Guppy's counsellor suggested that he should take up a new nice relaxing hobby. After some contemplation, he narrowed his choices down, and today he's in the gym trying weightlifting.

So far, he is bench pressing an entire 15kg, and has succeeded in not giving himself a hernia.

Guppy might notice that he's not alone. Someone is moving around by his feet, and sighing woefully.

Followed immediately by the thunk of a tin can hitting the floor.

Guppy very slowly lowers the weight so that it doesn't fall on him.

"No doggies in the gym."

Buster whines and picks up his can. It's missing its label, and has been quite badly chewed on, but he hasn't managed to get into it.

There's fish inside it. Open?

"No way, your master will get all whiny if I feed you." Guppy says.

Buster whines again, and drops the can by Guppy's feet so he can give Guppy's knee a good nudge with his snout.

"Buster, NO. Go ask Wilford."

Buster's whine turns into a little yip. He picks the can up and drops it again.

"Go ask Jim then, isn't he your babysitter?"

Buster gives Guppy's knee a nudge that really comes across as an annoyed headbutt instead. Still whining, he picks up his can and lies down on the floor to start chewing on it some more. It's hard to get his teeth around, and too tough to gnaw through, but he's going to try.

After ten minutes, Guppy takes Buster by the collar and leads him back to the main bar, not in any way that would hurt him.

"Wilford, are you here, or did you abandon your dog again?" he calls around.

Buster sniffs around and listens to all the weird sounds everyone is making. None of those sounds is Wilford calling back to come take Buster. Because he is not in the main bar.

After a moment, Buster looks up at Guppy with his fish can still in his mouth and wags his tail hopefully.

Guppy lets go of Buster and goes to look for Wilford outside.

Buster follows after Guppy, momentarily getting caught up at the back door to sniff at all the fish in the wall there. He wants to try to get to them, until he remembers that they're doing something and rushes over to catch up with Guppy.

He sniffs at the ground around and in front of Guppy, but all the smells of everyone else who's come and gone just confuse and overwhelm him.

"Buster, take me to Wilford." Guppy says. Just in case Wilford is dead.

Buster whines some more. He doesn't know where Wilford is! He wouldn't be trying to get Guppy to feed him if he did.

He sniffs the ground and walks around in a confused circle. So many people have been out here.

Guppy takes him inside and tells him to try again.

"Come on Buster, my deaf dachshund can do this."

Buster sniffs around, eventually making his way to the bar. He puts his paws up on the surface and yips a few times, but whatever he want is denied and ignored. He huffs moodily and decides to head upstairs. Maybe Wilford is up there.

Guppy follows him.

Buster leads him to their room, finding the door ajar. How odd! The door is usually locked. Buster pushes it open, and finds the room completely turned upside down. He drops his can of fish and immediately heads in to sniff at everything and try to figure out who ruined their room. But he doesn't smell anybody unfamiliar who should have been here. How alarming!

"Keep looking." Guppy says.

Buster grabs a shoe and brings it to Guppy.

"Well I guess Wilford was lying when he said you understand every word."

Buster whines and drops the shoe. He doesn't know what's going on. Why is the mattress off the bed? How is he supposed to nap? On the floor?

"Keep sniffing." Guppy says, looking for a lead for Buster so he can take him down the corridor without having to touch him.

Not that he didn't manage it a minute ago, but he'd rather not.

Wilford still uses the bright pink one the bar gave him as a joke. It's tangled up in a lamp that's been smashed against the wall.

Meanwhile, Buster's continued sniffing finds the other shoe. It's Wilford's favourite pair - the ones with the red stripes and laces. He probably wants those.
