Thorn is enjoying her first night in the Bar. It's late, which is why she's around, and she wants to see what all the fuss is about without having been triggered into it.

She's currently sprawled out on a couch on her stomach, knees bent and her feet entwined. There's a coke with a straw nearby that she's nursing and a generic teen magazine she's flipping through, mostly making faces at the various articles and photos.

If all this is normal, she's not for it.

The translation problem seems to be fixed and before heading back, Cassian asked Bar for information about France as the man he spoke to stuck with him. He's reading a book of French history with his datapad nearby to compare events.

When he sees who he thinks is Rose, he nods over his caf, "Reading anything interesting?"

She makes a face as she turns another page. "No, it's pretty much all garbage." She looks over at him. "Do you need the 10 best acne medications? Cause I don't."

"Then why are you reading it?" If she's that bored, there are other options.

She is that bored.

"I thought this place was supposed to be fun."

He frowns as she's been here before and liked it, "Or restful, what you want to get from it."

"Restful?" She raises her eyebrows at him, closing the magazine. "Not my area."

"What is your area? Not school?" That's what he knew Rose was working on.

"Oh my god, school is so boring." That is definitely not her area. "I'm so glad I get to ignore that part."

"You do, why?" He's missing something here and isn't certain how worried he should be.

She shrugs her shoulders. "It's stupid. I don't need to know history and all of that shit."

"History's useful to know as long as you know what's a lie,"

Most of the history he has access to is what the Empire thinks people can know.

"No, it's really not." She couldn't care less about who did what a hundred years ago. "There's only one history I need to know and that's mine."

"And you never interact with anyone else?"

She grins. "Only in my own special way."

"What does that mean?"

"Slicing and dicing," she says nonchalantly. "Most people aren't cool with visible scars."

"No, but they happen when you live in dangerous times,"

He has his share of scars but the ease she talks about violence is disconcerting.

"I am dangerous times." Another smile. "That's my area."

"Why? Who's hurt you enough that you need to hurt them back?"

Even though much of what he does is hurting others, he doesn't take any pleasure in it. She seems to.

Her smile falters. "I doubt you'd know them, but trust me, they deserve it."

"What did they do?"

He keeps his voice compassionate, he wants to understand and he knows from his work that no one opens up if you're skeptical.

"They ruin peoples' lives." That should be enough.

"Are you the only one who can stop them?"

That seems unlikely but then he doesn't know all the details.

She offers an unamused laugh. "Superheroes are too busy with the big stuff and police are corrupt. So yeah, I am the only one."

"Superheroes, are they like Jedi?"

He can understand not wanting to trust authorities, that makes sense.
