Halloween musical interlude
Emcee makes his way to the karaoke machine where a song is waiting for him.
He stands at the microphone, in a sparkling silver jumpsuit with flared shoulders, and tall red boots. His hair is slicked back, and he bears on his face a multicolored lightning bolt.
A quiet rock intro begins to play. Emcee begins to sing.
"In the velvet darkness of the blackest night,
Burning bright, there's a guiding star
No matter what or who you are..."
Emcee grasps the microphone stand in both hands as the electric guitars and drums kick in.
"There's a light over at the Frankenstein Place
There's a light burning in the fireplace
There's a light, a light in the darkness of everybody's life.
I can see the flag fly, I can see the rain
Just the same, there has got to be
Something better here for you and me...
There's a light over at the Frankenstein Place
There's a light burning in the fireplace
There's a light, a light in the darkness of everybody's life.
The darkness must go down the river of nights dreaming
Flow morphia slow, let the sun and light come streaming
Into my life...into my life...
There's a light over at the Frankenstein Place
There's a light burning in the fireplace
There's a light, a light in the darkness of everybody's life."

As the last note fades, he smiles faintly to himself-- which turns into a saucy red-lipped smirk right back at Daniel.
"Did you enjoy that as much as I did, darling?" he purrs.
no subject
"It reminds me college," says Daniel,"I haven't heard it in years."
There were some nights that involved fishnets and high heels.
no subject
"And you are looking quite dapper this evening-- Daniel, is it?"
They'd met quite a while ago, but Emcee never forgets a face.

Beat.
"The Bar has a sick sense of humor," he says dryly.
no subject
"I wouldn't say she has a sick sense of humor. I actually think your pencil mustache is adorable."
no subject
He's not sure if he should be embarrassed or flattered.

"How is your Halloween going so far?"

"Dolls that tried to kill you?"
It's clear that something happened in the bar tonight, but Emcee chalked it up to Milliways shenanigans as usual.

Cassian's at a table where he's been investigating the gagdets that came with his suit including a nice set of lockpicks and some sort of camera. He hasn't figured out what the pen does yet. Now he's drinking a new cocktail to him called a martini, Bar said it was appropriate.
As the day has gone on, he's loosened the tie of his suit and collar, he still feels odd without a weapon. As always, Emcee's outfit is amazing and some lines of the song make him think of seeing his father last night.

"Cassian, darling!" he beams at him. "I almost didn't recognize you. You look so...suave."
It's evident by the way Emcee looks him up and down that he appreciates this look.

"Suave, that's a new one. I think I'm meant to be a type of secret agent. You look spectacular. Are you meant to be someone or something or just one of your wonderful outfits?"

He's worn Imperial uniforms but that's different. Now he does run his hand along his neck, mussing up part of his hair.

"I still think you could be a pretty good Rocky."
no subject
"It was inevitable," he says with a red-lipped grin and an elegant ta da!-like gesture of his hands.
"Though I think you mean Dr. Frank N. Furter? Last time I checked, I'm not a hunky blond muscle boy."

She may be facetious there, but she's wearing the same pair of things, so.
no subject
"As for corsets, you do look lovely in that one. Is it of your own choosing or did the Bar put you in it?"
no subject
"It's actually mine, but Remy bought it. I was at a Halloween party with him before I came in."

"I got all the way to chin-length and I freaked out a little. So he offered to hunt for a costume with a hood if I felt nervous." She likes that he's willing to try. "There was a mask to go with this thing, but I ditched it earlier."
