He's making a list, checking it twice. Gonna find out who's naughty.
Actually, it's never too early to start planning a Milliways New Year's Eve party, especially when you want to rent some space, practically a blank canvas, and make a proper event out of it.
Emcee is sitting cross-legged on one of the sofas, with a notepad in his lap and a glass of red wine in his free hand. Things that he's scribbled down so far:
mirror ball
mirrored walls and ceiling
chaise lounges circular couches
chandeliers (maybe)
stage with: piano, karaoke machine, DJ equipment
glitter confetti
Is he going overboard? One thing for sure, Emcee never does anything half-assed.
Besides, this sort of thing is taking his mind off more pressing and important issues that are a matter of life and death and physical and emotional well-being and that is so not what he wants to deal with right now.

So, he grabs a bottle of amasec and heads over, hoping he's not disturbing anything.
"Evening. Do you mind if I sit with you?"
no subject
"Oh, good evening, Sahaal. Not at all, make yourself comfortable wherever you like. How are you?"
no subject
"I've been better, thanks. You?"
no subject
"I'm sorry to hear that. Perhaps things will start to look up after a few drinks, hmm? As for myself, I'm perfectly marvelous, thank you. Just busying myself by planning a party."
no subject
"Party? What sort of party is it?" Emcee doesn't seem the sort of person to hold victory celebrations. Perhaps a holiday from his Earth, or just one of those parties mortals seem to host sometimes.

He notices Emcee, and nods at him.

"May I ask why circular couches?"
no subject
"I prefer the aesthetics," he replies. "I don't like straight lines in social settings."
no subject
"What are you planning socially? With...glitter confetti and so many mirrors?"
no subject
"A New Year's Eve party. By the Bar's calendar, the end of the year is several weeks away, so I thought I ought to get a head start on planning something festive. I would say that glitter confetti is mandatory, but depending on the size of the room I end up choosing, the mirrors are optional."

Micah chooses a seat, perching himself on the arm of the chair nearest Emcee. "Regrettably, it's been a while since I had anything to do with confetti. glitter, on the other hand..." he shrugs. When one's housemates work at a strip club, one interacts with glitter. A lot.

He's sitting on one of the stools people-watching, peering around to see what's what. He can't read all of Emcee's list, though he does catch a glimpse of the word 'mirror ball'.
"Planning something good?"
no subject
"Oh, I'm always planning something good," Emcee says with a playful slyness in his voice and his smirk. "Sub-par just doesn't suit me."
