"You have GOT to be kidding me."

Standing in the open doorway, Cisco stares at the bar shaking his head.

With a sigh he tosses his toolbelt onto a bench beside the doorway and steps through into Milliways, letting the door close behind him.

His annoyance at what he had to go through to get here evaporates quickly, and when he takes a seat at the counter he’s all smiles.

"Hi, Bar. Remember me?"

That is absolutely not a squeal of delight when Bar produces a napkin with a cheerful greeting and a mug of Butterbeer to go along with it, anyone who hears one is clearly just imagining things.

Taking a drink, he turns on his stool to observe the bar at large, wondering just what exactly he can get into this time.

Andrew beams at the compliment. "Yours is pretty awesome too. D'you play? Uh, either?" He gestures back and forth between their respective shirts.

"Not a whole lot of D&D," he admits. "Kind of hard to table top solo."

Although... now he's wondering if Barry and Caitlin might be up for a quest.

"I do retro arcading all the time, though. There's a Pizza Hut in south Central City that still has the cocktail table Pacman, and yours truly owns all the high score slots."

A rather proud achievement for him.

"How 'bout you?"

"It's been way too long since I got to do either," he confesses. "I used to DM, but that was like years ago."

"Bummer. What keeps you busy?" Hopefully it's something interesting.

"Research mostly, these days. I'm support staff for a group of supernatural troubleshooters? And on my downtime I'm on a project to translate and digitize a metric buttload of old texts on monsters and stuff, including logbooks of historical support staff."

"Supernatural troubleshooters?" Cisco repeats, eyebrow arched before his expression turns into wide-eyed excitement. "Dude, are you a Ghostbuster?"

Andrew looks startled for a moment, then laughs. "Dude, no, I wish. I used to be friends with one here, but he left a couple years back."

"What? That's awesome. So what are you, then? You don't work for National Enquirer, do you?" That would be interesting, but much less cool.

He shakes his head. "Um ... if I said vampire slayer, would that mean anything to you?"

Cisco sits back, crossing his arms and looking the man over.

"That depends. Are we talking Lost Boys? Wesley Snipes? Van Helsing?"

"No, no, and possibly vaguely related? -- Not like blood relative, but there was definitely a distant associate of the Watchers' Council who may or may not have been the original Van Helsing."

"Are you working for historic, long-running, secret organizations that hunts and kills vampires?" Cisco asks, taking what Andrew has said and putting together the coolest (and probably least likely) scenario.

"... baaaaasically, yeah? Um, and also for the aforementioned troubleshooters which is a much smaller group that's only loosely affiliated."

:D?, says Andrew's face.

"Whaaaaat? Dude, that's awesome." He wasn't actually expecting all of that to be true!

"So you're not an actual staker, thought, right? You're like, the dude in the chair?"

"I'm ... sort of the dude in the chair, yeah, if I follow you? Not so much direct combat if there's a choice." He grins. "In practice it's more like ... dude following up the leads, dude driving the van, dude picking up the takeout."

He takes a drink of his mocha. "How about you, what do you do?"

"Dude, that's me!" Cisco says over-enthusiastically, patting his chest. "I'm a mechanical engineer, so I also make the toys. I mostly stay on the sidelines, but I did just recently stand up to one big bad and sent him packing."

Andrew brightens. "You're a mechanical engineer? Respect, man."

People who build stuff are the coolest.

"Why thank you, respect," Cisco says, holding up his fist for a bump.

He gets a bump back, and another grin.

"So what kind of team do you work for? Uh, for-slash-with?"

Cisco grins, and then his eyes widen. "Oh, uh, just a like, scientific research team, kind of thing... "

He pauses, then shakes his head, leaning in and lowering his voice.

"Okay, we don't hunt vampires, but we definitely take on evil super-villains."

"Always cool," says Andrew approvingly.

"Wait, aren't all supervillains evil? ... Oh, I guess you could have a chaotic neutral supervillain."

"Point," Cisco concedes. "Just about every supervillain is evil, but not every evil is a supervillain. Haven't come across the chaotic neutral, yet, though. Probably give it a couple of weeks."

"That often?" His eyes widen a little. "Where do you guys work?"

"Thaaat, I can't say," he says, then adds, "Or I'd have to kill you."

Which is completely untrue, but c'mon, Cisco has practically lived his whole life for an opportunity to say that!

"Fair enough," says Andrew, agreeably. "I just meant, like, approximate city area, not street address? But if it's classified that's cool too."
