Really, the only thing to do when it's snowing hard outside, the wind blowing bitterly cold, when the world is indistinguishable shades of dim grey and the weak winter sun is nowhere to be seen...
...is take a nap, curled up at one end of the couch and wrapped up in a warm blanket, in front of the merrily blazing fireplace.
Admittedly, the nap wasn't planned. Young Rae had intended to finish at least this chapter of her book, and enjoy her hot cocoa before it cooled off. But neither were meant to be, apparently.
Who says humans weren't meant to hibernate through the winter?

"Some days just call for naps, it seems," she admits to Kyber, quietly. Her words are nearly overtaken by the huge yawn that follows, which leaves her eyes watering.

Pats are good, human. Well done. You shall be rewarded with more snuggling.

"I didn't mean to take a nap. It just sort of happened."

Naps happen. It's a fact of life.

"So sweet," she murmurs, drowsily. "Have you had a good winter, huh? Play out in the snow?"
