There is a quiet circle of chairs on one side of the bar. Perhaps it's been a rough month, or year? Perhaps this year isn't looking like it'll be any better.

Perhaps you just really want one of these cupcakes decorated like little green frogs.

Either way, there is a large sign on the wall just next to the group.

Mark is so here for those cupcakes. In fact, he takes two. That's how here for them he is.

"Hey Mark, how goes?"

[justmark]

Guppy catches Mark mid-bite. He looks up, maybe a bit surprised at being caught so quickly, and shrugs.

"All right," he says, mumbling around a mouthful of cupcake.

That was gross. He waits until he's done chewing to try that again.

"Did you make these?" he asks, motioning toward the rest of the cupcakes with one of the ones in his hands.

"Nah, Bonnie did." Guppy says. "You can tell by the fact that they're edible."

[justmark]

"Why wouldn't they be edible?" Mark asks.

Guppy is talking to a man who once spent two weeks eating nothing but literal dog food. The concept of edible means something a bit different to Mark.

[notapilot]

Sam is eyeing one of the frogs and wondering things.

He's also available for conversation if anyone is interested.

"Hey Sam." Guppy offers him a cupcake.

"How are you doing?"

[notapilot]

"Okay, I guess." Sam accepts the cupcake. "Why frogs?"

[guppy_sandhu]

"Oh, Bonnie made them, I think she got Billie to choose the design." Guppy says.

He picks one up and takes off the wrapper. "You can tell I didn't make them because they taste good."

Beat.

"You've not heard from Alana by any chance, have you?"

[notapilot]

Sam chuckles at Guppy's answer until he gets to his question, when Sam's humor fades.

"Dr. Bloom? No I haven't," he answers. "Why? Is everything alright?"

Young Rae Seddon, as warm and sleepy as she had been on the couch, can't quite resist the allure of cupcakes. Especially not cupcakes decorated like cute little green frogs. They are almost too adorable to eat.





Almost.

Sam notices the little girl and smiles.

"I'm not sure, but I think there's a hint of mint in this frosting."

[sunbaked_baker]

The girl smiles back, choosing a cupcake and holding it up close to her nose to smell. "There might be! It smells like there could be a bit of mint there."

She manages not to get icing on the tip of her nose, but it's a close thing.

"The frogs are very cute. Did you make them?" she asks, curious.

[notapilot]

"Nah, I'm more a cookie guy. Bonnie made them from what I hear though."

He tilts his head towards her and half covers his mouth as if offering up a secret. "I've had one and they're really good."

[sunbaked_baker]

"If Ms Bonnie made them, they're sure to be good. Though I like cookies, too," the girl nods, sagely. She has opinions.

Mostly that opinion is that sweet baked treats are the best, no matter what kind they are.

"Ms Bonnie is great at making all sorts of delicious treats," she smiles, unwrapping the cupcake so she can take a bite. "She made pies and toffee apples for the scouts' Halloween party, and I made the chocolate spiders."

The green icing had Bodhi curious and he holds one of the cupcakes up, turning it side to side to look at it.

"Hey Bodhi, how are you doing?" Guppy asks.

[imthepilot]

"I'm okay." He sounds rather distracted. "What is this meant to look like? An amphibian of some sort?"

[guppy_sandhu]

"Yes, a frog." Guppy says. "Bonnie made them for us."

[imthepilot]

"Is it made from a frog, or just made to look like one?"

Here is Ragnar Lothbrok, eyeing the apparently edible frog figures.

"Hey Ragnar, how goes?" Guppy asks, offering him a cake."

[bigarmy_strangepants]

He takes it. "This is really for eating?" he says.

He sits.

"Better now."

[guppy_sandhu]

"It is, help yourself to as many as you like." Guppy says.

"What's been happening?"

[bigarmy_strangepants]

"My youngest son," Ragnar says, quietly, "was born with crippled legs."
