Kobold Plot
In the dark of the night, some creatures were stirring...
The forest is a flurry of activity tonight. Creatures great and small scurry about in the dark depths. Hissing and squealing and short, sharp barks flood the space between the trees, creating a deafening cacophony of noise. Pungent odors of damp dog and stagnant water permeate the forest.
Monsters await, lurking there in the dark. Monsters with glowing red eyes and a yipping, high-pitched language. They guard their den fiercely, hoarding treasures.
Traps line the trees, looking to catch the unwary. The kobolds are expert trap-layers and ambushers, and have put all their skills to use in protecting their lair.

Pairing up
Pair up here, and good luck!
Re: Pairing up
He's not sure whether anyone will want to pair up with him, but if not, he'll go in alone.
Re: Pairing up
Re: Pairing up
Vyvyan sidles up. "Want a hand?"
Re: Pairing up
Yes, indeed, that is a joke, even though Teja delivers it with his usual grim countenance.
"How long since you last needed to regenerate?"

Re: Pairing up
Graverobber is tromping around the woods in a sour, pissy mood. He's not exactly used to the great outdoors, and he's not exactly thrilled with this being his first encounter with it. Navigating through trees is definitely not the same as navigating paved cityscape, especially not by the light of a dinky flashlight he got from the bar.
Still, he needs his zydrate gun back, and replacing it isn't an option on the table. He ain't a rich dude. Zydrate guns have to get made or bought, and he doesn't have the cash to do either right now.
So, fuck it. All that leaves is tromping all over and trying to find his shit and get out of there.
Re: Pairing up
"Ho, there! Are you searching for these miscreants as well?"
Re: Pairing up
"Hey there," he says. "If you mean the little bastards stealing everyone's shit, then yes I am. They take something of yours, too?"

Traps
Re: Traps
He can hear the beasts in the darkness. He knows that they'll have set traps, because he's a Night Lord. It's what he would have done. He doesn't care.
He strides into the forest, fully clad in his warplate and jump pack, and armed to the teeth. Claws, bolter, grenades, det-packs. Enough ordinance to ensure a Balrog wouldn't get back up.
Perhaps he's being overconfident. Perhaps.
Re: Traps
That's all the warning he has before a gaping maw, fifteen-feet deep, opens up beneath him. If he doesn't jump clear, the landing will be a hard one.
Re: Traps
As he grabs hold of a tree branch, he grins behind his helm.

He's apparently paying more attention than it would be thought possible for him.

Re: Traps
Bastion steps into the kobolds' fortifications from the opposite end of their gauntlet of deathtraps, with Ganymede behind and above them in flight. They're trying to avoid the kobolds themselves if there's a way to get around them, but likely don't have much choice about running into the pack of treasure-hunting amphibians, especially since they aren't exactly built to be nimble and quiet.
Re: Traps
That being said, they get a few steps out of the den before the ground shifts beneath their feet.
That's all the warning they have before a sinkhole opens up beneath them. If they don't jump clear, they'll land in a twenty-foot deep hole with about five feet of water at the bottom.

What he does know is that there is something potentially interesting and entertaining going on out here, and he wants to see what it is.
Re: Traps
That's all the warning he has before a gaping maw, fifteen-feet deep, opens up beneath him. If he doesn't jump clear, the landing won't be hard, but it won't be pleasant, either: The pit is filled with demon bunnies, who shoot off gouts of flame at the person invading their space.
Re: Traps
"Augh! No! What!"
He grabs his sword from his back and starts swinging wildly at the creatures, trying to jump out of the way. He might have sprained his ankle during the fall, but it's hard to tell with everything else attacking him right now.

Still, he tries his best to keep a watchful eye out, especially as they move closer towards the noises of the kobolds. Honestly, Graverobber just wants to get in and out with his shit and move on with life. If these little lizard guys could ideally not fuck with him too badly, that'd be great.
Re: Traps
"I'm going to cast a spell to help us notice things better," Khadgar tells his companion as his free hand lights up with arcane rings of energy. "I'd hate to miss a trail just because it's dark out."
It won't let them see in the dark, just makes picking things out a little easier. It's a simple spell he's been using since he was an apprentice, usually to find things he wasn't meant to.
