Gabriel feels like shit.
He's commandeered the couch again, looking at a tablet to try and distract himself from his bones feeling like they're on literal fire. Or maybe that's the stretching his muscles and tendons and ligaments and nerves are dealing with. The very sharp-eyed may notice he's an inch taller than he was last time he was in. All he knows is that he hurts and this sucks.
Seems like a lot of people are sick in here today. At least his improved immune system should keep him from picking up whatever it is.

"You," Baze says eloquently to Gabriel, "look like crap. May the Force of others be with you! What are you sick with? Do you want a drink of water?"
no subject
"Hey Baze." He looks over at the other man, noting he's started his project again.
"I'm good, thanks. Just getting over my last treatment." He doesn't think he's mentioned specifics of the SEP to anyone yet but he's growing taller now. People are going to notice that. Sure it's a top secret government program but he's at the end of all time and space. He's decided it's probably okay to talk about.
Since people will figure somethings up anyway.
"You all healed up, then?" Since he must be fasting again for his little project.

"Seems like an awful treatment. I hope you feel better soon. Let me know if there's anything I can do. And yes, I'm all healed up! It only took a week, though that week felt much longer."

He gestures towards Baze's table, turning attention from himself. "And good that you can get back to your weapon crafting."
no subject
"Right! Chirrut would have had my head if I tried fasting while I was injured, so I didn't even bother. I'm glad to be back to crafting, though. I had to start the project over."
no subject
He's genuinely curious since Baze didn't want to talk about before. He figured it was part of the rules of whatever he's making.

"You've been working on that nearly as long as I've been coming. What's the time frame on it?"
no subject
"Well, the first time I built one of these, the construction took me nine months. Now that I know what I'm doing, I'm guessing around six. But I'll be taking a month after that to get my strength back up before I rejoin Security."
no subject
"Kinda like going on sabbatical?" He's making a weapon and he works on Security, so it makes sense to Gabe that the two would go together.
no subject
"You've met X, right?"
no subject
"First time I was here. Runs Security, right?"
no subject
"If you get in trouble repeatedly, she will have you meditate with her. Sometimes she brings juice boxes."
no subject
"Does that work?"
no subject
"But I'd be surprised if meditation and juice boxes worked for everyone."
no subject
"You got in trouble a lot before joining Security?"
And they hire people with that kind of track record, interesting.

"And he totally deserved it."
no subject
"You work with him okay now?"
no subject
no subject
"Alright then. As long as the job gets done it's all good."
He's also taking this as a lesson to not get too nosy with Baze.
no subject
"Besides, I don't have anything against him anymore. He can be nosy all he likes, and I can just ignore him."

Gabriel sets his tablet down, the screen long since timed out from disuse. He stretches slowly, carefully pulling on his sore muscles.
"Oh hey, your birthday thing is coming up, right? Not sure I can make it, I'm pretty messed up right now, but is there something you and Chirrut want or need?"
no subject
"But no, we want for nothing! Bar provides everything we could possibly want or need. And gifts weren't necessary for the party to be awesome. Thanks, though!"
