The circle of chairs is out near the fire, with tea and cakes and the usual assortment of tasty things.

The notice behind the circle on the wall is slightly different from usual.

IF YOU ARE UNWELL AND NEED EMOTIONAL OR MEDICAL SUPPORT, YOU ARE STILL WELCOME, BUT PLEASE MAKE YOURSELF KNOWN TO ONE OF THE INFIRMARY TEAM (GUPPY, SAM OR MARK) SO THAT WE CAN CHAT WITH YOU AWAY FROM THE GROUP AND REDUCE THE SPREAD OF INFECTION'

Guppy isn't infected. He's had it about eight times, so even he's got a degree of immunity these days.

He is however ready with a face mask just in case. But for the moment, he's settled with tea.

Baze isn't infected, either. That said, he has been looking for Guppy, while wearing the beard lights.

"Guppy! Hoi! May the Force of others be with you! Do you have a minute?"

"Certainly." Guppy moves up to make room for him. "What's up?"

Baze settles his unarmored bulk into the chair and rests his hands on the table.

"Well, I was wondering why there's no bacta tank in the infirmary. Do you know what bacta is?"

Mark is still dealing with a few lingering effects of his vaccines, but he's feeling well enough to come down and help out here if he's needed.

Though he may be wearing a mask he grabbed out of the infirmary. Just in case. It's hard to eat snacks with a mask on, but he sure is giving it a good try.

"Hey, not got the bug I hope?" Guppy asks, offering him a biscuit.

Mark shakes his head. “Trying not to get it.”

He’s been miserable for a while already. No point in making it worse.

"I've had it eight times." Guppy says. "It's not a nice bug, but the last few times I've not had it as badly, so I'm hoping to escape this time. I won't blame you if you want to avoid it."

Jay is there to help out with his first Life Support as a member of the team.

"Hey, welcome to the team." Guppy smiles. "Thanks again."

He offers Guppy his hand. "Thanks for having me. Anything specific you need me doing?"

"Just being a listening ear, really." Guppy says, taking the hand with a firm shake. "And particularly this week, just keeping half an eye out for anyone who's particularly sick and confused and send them to a medic."

Izana rolls up in a motorized wheelchair, having noticed the sign and gathering while heading to get some tea. Health notices are very important things, and so they decided to check things out. Their feeling better after their combat injuries (having lost their right arm and left leg) and the pain medicines have faded, so they are much more alert.

"Is the illness wide spread and very contagious?" They are on several potent anti-biotic to stave off infection back home, but the last thing Sidonia needs is a new disease introduced.

"It is." Guppy says, coming over to sit with them. "Are you feeling okay?"

"I am, though I feel I've lost an arm and a leg." They wait a moment to see if the joke falls flat before adding, "I am not ill that I am aware of, though I am currently taking many antibiotic due to my injuries."

"Could you tell me the incubation period? I live aboard an enclosed colony ship and I wouldn't want to bring any disease back with me."

"It's highly contagious." Guppy says. "On average, people appear to get sick very quickly, within days of exposure, but I've seen people get infected up to a week or two later."

He's just going to be staring at the sign for a minute. "This place has a fucking support group?"

"Support group, venting session, cake." Jay shrugs, "Whatever floats your boat."

He looks over at the other man. "Why?"

The sign catches Cassian's eye and he walks over to read it. That must be what his friends have caught. Once he's read the sign, he walks over to get something to eat and drink.

"Hey Cassian. How's it going?" Jay greets, waving a fork at a slice of cake. "Don't know who's been baking but it's good."

"Well enough. I think I've been meeting people with this flu. I'll try some,"

It's disconcerting and worry, he likes to be able to rely on his knowledge of a person.

Bastion spies the chairs, the sign, the food, and the poster, in that order. The idea of getting emotional support here appeals to them; they learned the hard way that the Milliways forest isn't a safe place to retreat to when they want to work though their thoughts. This mistake is, in fact, the reason they need emotional support in the first place. Ganymede has been fussing over them since the kobold incident, and it helps, but it's not making the lingering distress go away completely.

Whoever put up the signs - presumably either Guppy, Sam, or Mark - does seem to be very concerned about an outbreak of disease, however. This is somewhat worrying.

They have their T-Minus device with them, sitting on their right shoulder.

(OOC: this is gonna be slowtimey, I'm at an anime convention this weekend; hope that's okay. )

"Hi there." Guppy gives Bastion a wave. "Come and join us."

Bastion waves back, and walks over to the circle. Most of the chairs look a little small for them, so they go to the snacks table first and pour a teacup of water for Ganymede. Then they put their T-Minus device down on the table and use a spoon to scoop up some icing from a piece of cake and feed it to the slime reservoir; this device doesn't look like it has any way of grinding up solid food. They have no idea how often it needs to eat or what it looks like when it's hungry, but they may as well feed it while they're here.
