Flu
Since feeding the sick the other day, Bonnie knew it was probably only a matter of time. She's been staying here since, making sure she doesn't take it home to the baby.
When she got the signs of it, she stayed in her room, initially because she didn't want to infect anyone. But in all honesty, she's not felt up to getting out of bed for anything other than to go to the bathroom or get a glass of water.
On the third day, she manages to send a waitrat downstairs to get supplies, leaves the door slightly ajar, then lies back on the bed. Ugh. Everything hurts.

"Three days ago. I'm keeping some fluids down at least though."

She coughs again, grimacing with pain.
"I made a big batch the other day but I think it's all gone now."

When he leaves, she decides now is a good time for a bathroom break. She gets up, feeling wobbly and shaky, but only makes it as far as the bathroom door before collapsing on the floor.
She curses under her breath and tries to get up again. She tells herself not to be ridiculous. It's just a bit of flu.
But people die of flu, back home.
She sits up and slows her breathing down. It'll be okay. Jay will come back and he will fuss but it'll be okay.

"Thanks Jay. Were you in when I knocked before, Bonnie?"
"I didn't want you to get it." Bonnie says.
Guppy gives her a look.
"I'm just going to give you some oxygen, help your breathing." he says, gently fixing a tube just below her nose.
Bonnie looks somewhat alarmed by this and reaches out for Jay's hand.

"Looks like pneumonia." Guppy says, looking at her scan. "We're going to need to keep you at least a couple of days Bonnie, and put you on a drip."
"How the hell did I get pneumonia?" Bonnie asks.
"You probably started off as flu. You need to steer clear of it if it comes round again." Guppy says. "Rather than going around looking for sick people to feed."

She is going to owe them so much pie later.
The oxygen eases her breathing, and she manages to relax into some proper sleep.
