Sinric is down by the lake, a plaid patterned demon bunny resting in his lap. He stroked it, singing softly to it.

It hissed when it saw Myrrh, bearing long teeth.

"Peace!" Sinric calls urgently as the bunny coughed a little gout of flame. "Peace, my fierce friend." He gestures for Galen to stay back a moment as he puts the bunny down.

"You know how to tame those??" Galen asks, amazed.

"Not tame, no." Sinric gives the bunny a little nudge. It hisses at Myrrh again and lopes off into the undergrowth. "They are wild and cannot be tamed. But we have an understanding, the bunnies and I. They have no love for your feline friend."

Myrrh jumps down, arches her back, and hisses in the direction where the bunny has vanished.

"She hunts them," Galen says. "Have you seen Bodhi?"

"Peace, brave one. It had gone now." Sinric addresses to Myrrh, flattening his skirts as he rises.

"I know. The bunnies often come to me with scars of their battles." He smiles to Galen. "I have not seen you betrothed today but I have spent most of it high in the mountain. Little chance we might have crossed paths. Have you been seeking him long?"

"Erm," Galen says. "Everywhere inside I could think of. I had an idea and want to tell him."

"Have you tried the Greenhouse? I understand he has a gift for green and growing things. You might well find him there."

"No, I haven't been there yet," Galen says, bending down to pick up Myrrh. "We only came outside just now. Good idea; thanks."

Sinric give them a gentle smile and points the way. "Go well, my friends and good luck. I'm sure you'll find Bodhi soon enough."

"Thanks," Galen says, giving him a smile and ambling off with the black cat riding on his shoulder.

He pokes his head into the greenhouse, then opens the door, steps inside, and starts wandering out into its vastness.

He has known star destroyers from the inside, but the giant nonlinear spaces in Milliways still continue to astound him.

From somewhere in the humid greenness comes the sound of Bodhi singing his favourite slam poetry, unselfconscious and cheerful.

Myrrh hops off Galen's shoulder an races towards the familiar sound; Galen follows at a human pace.

Bodhi's song breaks off with a happy greeting as he bends down to pet Myrrh. "Hey Myrrh. What brings you out here?"

"I do," Galen says, emerging from between raised flower beds.

Bodhi's face breaks into a massive smile and he comes over to kiss the corner of Galen's mouth. "Hi."

Galen smiles, and hugs him, and kisses him back. This makes him so inordinately happy.

"You're cheerful today." He returns the hug, lingering on it. "Feeling better?"

"Oh yes," Galen says. "I could uproot trees."

Bodhi laughs. "Please don't! I've spend all morning re-potting things. I don't need anything uprooted."

Pots Myrrh is sniffing at with interest.

"Okay," Galen says. "What are you planting?"

"Some new herbs I've been learning about." He moves to shift the pot out of Myrrh's reach. To which she chirps unhappily. "That one is a special cat mint. Good for digestion. In small amounts."

"She already seems interested," Galen says, amused. "What else?"

"Some earth herbs. A bulb called garlic I've grown quite fond of. And some vegetable cuttings for the outdoor garden when the weather turns." He gestures to some little pots and containers of water with the ends of a celery planted, the top of a pineapple and other scraps he's rescued from the kitchen. "I found a book on regrowing from end of things. I wanted to try it."

"I like that spiky thing," Galen says, poking the pineapple. "What is it going to be?"

Regrowing from scraps would have been such a useful technique for Jedha. The place is so sorely missed.

"It's an earth fruit called a pineapple. Or it will be. I'll have to grow it in here. It needs heat."
