Ysalwen, dressed in brown leathers over a purple and grey set of mage robes, is out back with Liranan, tossing a frisbee that he leaps to catch, then bounds to return to her.
Her staff and her sword are strapped across her back, and there is something that might be a fancy picnic lunch tucked up against a rock. Compared to the Frostbacks this is pretty balmy, and being able to be outside without worrying about wyvern attacks is a nice change of pace from where they're currently traveling at home.

"Hoi, Ysalwen! And Liranan, too! May the Force of others be with you! Playing with a flying disc?"
(OOC: Baze will aim to avoid the trifecta and not be awkward with all of your awesome pups!)
no subject
"Well met, Baze! Were you out training? Or just enjoying the day?"
no subject
"I was training, yeah. I'm doing staff forms forwards, backwards, and starting in the middle, like Logan encouraged me to do. Have you been out here long?"
no subject
"Logan? I don't think I've met him. He's a teacher, then, I take it?"
She'll get to Baze's question in a minute.
no subject
"He's a brusque man, and X's brother. He's gruff, and a little rough around the edges, but he's agreed to train me, and I'm happy to learn. I don't know if he's a teacher in his world or not; we haven't talked a lot about things other than moonshine and hand-to-hand forms."
no subject
"Well, those are certainly two very different topics of discussion."
no subject
What?
"He warned me that some people don't like to learn from him, but if I could take his teaching style, he'd be willing to teach. X coaches baseball teams of children; I wouldn't be surprised if Logan had something like that tucked away in his world."
no subject
"How many lessons have you had with him so far?"
no subject
"He told me to do my forms backwards. I'd never thought to do that before. Now I'm learning how to perform them just as well as I do forwards, which is an interesting challenge."

(Or in this case, an old one that had needed some repair and reassembly.)

He howls, wild and joyful, and then leaves off the game and moves in that direction.
He does not stop howling. That is how you get shot by friends!
Ysalwen sighs, lifts her hand and fires a bolt of flame way up into the sky, and follows after.
no subject
"Hey, boy."
no subject
Ysalwen emerges from the brush a few moments after, pulling a few stray twigs and leaves from her hair, and smiling ruefully.
"Everything is an adventure with mabari, no? Hello, James. I'm sorry to interrupt your -- practice, was it?"
no subject
"Hi. You're not interrupting. I was just sighting in a rifle. Same principle as with a crossbow."
no subject
She laughs quietly, but it fades.
"Is this new technology you found in the bar, or are you getting ready for something?"
no subject
He straightens, studying her carefully as her laughter fades.
"I'm -- no. Just... being prepared. "
no subject
She smiles again, a little softer this time.
"Sorry, I seem to spend a lot of time worrying these days."

The dog's bounding catches his attention. He's a large beast, bigger even than the Gilnean hounds, and realizing he's probably there to protect the woman Khadgar calls out before he can startle either of them. "Hail, madame, may I pass or should I go around?"
Her staff also earns a curious look because he hasn't met any other mages here yet. (He thinks of Sunshine as more an apprentice than full fledged mage.)
no subject
"If we're going by titles, it's Warden-Commander, but Ysalwen will do. No one's going to attack you here, we're just playing fetch, Liranan and I."
no subject
"Well met, Ysalwen," he says with a smile, continuing his approach until he doesn't have to raise his voice quite so much. "I am Archmage Khadgar of Azeroth, though Khadgar is fine." Since she mentioned her title it's only polite to say his own. "I thought it wise to ask before crossing the path of such an enormous dog."
He offers a glove covered palm to introduce himself to Liranan. "You are a most impressive animal."
no subject
"Khadgar it is. And -- Liranan's only fierce in my defense. As long as you mean me no harm, it's fine."
She grins, quick and bright.
"Is Azeroth a country, or a world, or a city of some kind?"
no subject
"A world." His smile is wry. "I could be more specific but I doubt Dalaran, Kirin Tor, or Council of Six means anything to you."
no subject
She laughs very quietly, eyes crinkling at the corners.
"Though knowing it's a world does give me some bit of a sense of scale, so thank you for that."
no subject
He's still enamoured with the library here.
"Is Ferelden or Thedas your world?"
no subject
"Thedas is the continent, my world itself has no name. Ferelden is my country, for what that's worth. Amaranthine is the city where I live. She's a seaport, with a lot of rainy weather."
