Weird things happen when Wilford gets bored. Which is why he's sitting down at a table with a beer and a pack of cigarettes, reading cached restaurant reviews on Yip! For his restaurant. That reality still hasn't quite sunk in yet, but it will, once the money goes through and everything is transferred over.
He got bored and bought a restaurant. Someone will probably want to shout at him over this too, since he's been shouted out about everything he does lately.

"I'm sorry."

"You don't go ratting a guy out to his women, man."
no subject
"His women? You own Nichola?"
no subject
Which is to say not at all, even in the slightest. But she still counts as 'his.'
no subject
"I won't mess with her, then, since she's yours," he says, and then holds up a hand.
"Not that I was planning to."
no subject
Who's he kidding? Nichola can take care of herself.
But still. Wilford doesn't like people messing with his stuff. Of which Nichola definitely qualifies.
no subject
"She doesn't put up with a lot of crap."
no subject
She's high on the list of people who will probably call him an idiot tomorrow morning.
"Why do you think I like her?"
no subject
"Though that's probably obvious."
no subject
"You're not her type."
Even if he were, which he's not, Wilford would do everything in his power to sabotage that.
no subject
"Type?"
no subject
Probably. Hopefully.
no subject
"You mean... like a relationship? Oh, no, I'm not interesting in dating Nichola!"
Baze throws his head back and laughs. That's absurd.

"Hey Wilford." Guppy sits opposite him. "Can you clear something up for me please?"
no subject
Yay. More people shouting at him.
"What now?" he grumbles.

"Someone's been giving the kids boxes of fireworks and cash. Brooke took one of the fireworks to school. I need to know what was exactly in the boxes so I know how to deal with the situation. Was it you?"
no subject
He has no idea what was in the boxes. He doesn't even remember giving them out. Even if he did, he specified a random assortment.
"Who's Brooke?"
no subject
Since Autor has already told him it was Wilford, and Nichola gave him the clue about Chinese New Year to confirm it, he's really just seeing if Wilford has the balls to own up. Of course, if he genuinely doesn't remember, that complicates the matter.
no subject
Wilford was beyond drunk when he bought the fireworks. He knows that he did it, because Autor told him, and the bar confirmed it. Beyond that, it's anyone's guess what was in that box.

He sighs, and looks away from his laptop to face Guppy properly.
"Was anyone hurt?" he asks plainly.
no subject
He sighs, but continues calmly. If Autor got a box, all the kids of the bar were targeted, not his own. The scenario here could be worse. Wilford is apparently an idiot, but he's not trying to mess with his kids.
"Wilford, while it was kind of you to give the bar's kids money, and I will make sure that mine thank you for that by the way, surely even you can see that giving young children a box of fireworks without adult supervision is really dangerous? If you want to celebrate Chinese New Year with the kids, how about next year we have a supervised event out back? I'd be happy to help with that, and I'm sure Bonnie would too."
no subject
Isn't this how kids learn what's dangerous? By getting into trouble?

He still doesn't wear a seatbelt, either.
