Honey I Shrunk The Pups

[fry_sandhu]

"The most important thing is not to panic." Fry says to Coral and Brooke, as the three miniaturised children stand right next to the bar to avoid being trodden on.

"Dad's going to panic." Coral says.

"Dad's not here." Brooke points out.

"Statistically speaking, this will be easily remedied in a short period of time, so long as we don't get trodden on." Fry says. "All we need to do is wait for a magic user."

"I think we should get to higher ground." Coral says.

Brooke starts climbing up a bar stool. By the time she has succeeded, Coral and Fry have asked a kindly passing waitrat to carry them up. Then they set about constructing a makeshift shelter from toothpicks and napkins.

Egil comes inside a few moments after the accident, carrying his pirate monkey doll which is now considerably bigger than any of the Sandhu children.

He stops and stares at the miniature people.

[fry_sandhu]

"Egil!" Fry comes carefully to the edge of the bar, cautious not to fall off. "Can you get Teja? This situation requires urgent investigating!"

"You're really Fry?" Egil says, coming close while taking care not to step on anybody. "Why are you so little?"

[fry_sandhu]

The three children are on top of the bar by this point, which is probably a bit safer, though Coral is a bit worried that others might be on the floor.

"Yes." Fry says. "We got shrunk, and we don't know how. I think it was a magic accident."

"Do you think when we get unshrunk they could make me a bit taller?" Coral asks Brooke.

"Only if they make me the tallest." Brooke says.

"When magic accidents get solved, everything is always as it was," Egil pronounces, with the absolute certainty of a child that has spent most of his time so far in Milliways. "Would you like me to take you somewhere?"

It would be so cool to have his friends in his pockets!

"Only if you don't drop us." Fry says.

"Maybe you could take us to the toilet." Coral says. "We should all go now, while we have the chance."

"We can't go to the normal toilet, we'd fall in." Fry says.

"That would be fun, we could get flushed down like in that film." Brooke says.

"Don't be silly, we'd drown." Fry says.

"The infirmary waitrats have a tiny bathroom with a flushable toilet." Coral says. "For Hygiene. We could go there, and then look for Teja."

Egil gets a basket from the bar, and invites them to step in.

[fry_sandhu]

Brooke jumps in, Fry climbs in, and Coral looks a bit nervous, but gets in after a moment.

"To the infirmary, and beyond!" Brooke shouts.

Very carefully and gently, Egil carries the basket to the infirmary.

"Where's that bathroom?" he asks his passengers.

[fry_sandhu]

"In the rats' room." Fry points. "Off the staff room."

[ostro_goth]

Oh! That is something where Egil isn't usually allowed to go, so he proudly makes his way there, now that he is.

Gently, he puts the basket down in front of the rat-sized door.

"I'll wait here," he says, superfluously.

[fry_sandhu]

"Thanks Egil!" Fry says, hopping out.

There are a few moments of waiting, while the children explain to the waitrats as best they can why they are using their toilet. Then they come back out to Egil.

"Let's find Teja now!" Coral says.

"We should just stay small, then we don't have to go to school." Brooke says.

"Get into the basket, and I'll carry you to the forge?" Egil suggests.

[coral_sandhu]

The children scramble back into the basket.

"You make a good driver, Egil." Coral says, grinning.

[ostro_goth]

"I am a beast of burden!" Egil says, sauntering around tiny people and then out the back door, towards the forge. "Like the catbus! Next stop Forgelandia!"

[fry_sandhu]

"You're a foxbus." Coral says.

"Careful we don't fall out in the breeze." Fry says, ducking back into the basket.

[ostro_goth]

"I'm the foxbus!" Egil laughs. "I will keep you nice and stead and safe and comfy!"

He holds the basket to his chest and runs off, surprisingly smooth and even, as somebody who has indeed learned running as a fox, not a human.

[fry_sandhu]

"Whee!" Brooke shouts. "Faster!"

Fry holds onto his sisters' shirts, just in case.

Of course Egil goes faster -- Brooke said so herself.

"This is fun," he giggles.

[fry_sandhu]

Coral looks quite scared and holds on very tight to the weave.

"Careful Egil!" Fry says.

[ostro_goth]

Carefully, Egil holds the basket very steady as he runs.

"I am the foxbus!" he declares. "You are safe as houses!"

[fry_sandhu]

"You don't want to make us travel sick in your basket." Fry says.

"Wimps." Brooke says, bouncing around.

[ostro_goth]

"No, I don't," Egil says, stopping and lifting up the basket and looking at them. "We should take a vote. You decide how fast I go."

[brooke_sandhu]

"Maximum three miles an hour." Fry says.

"As fast as you can!" Brooke says.

"As fast as a teacher." Coral says.

[ostro_goth]

"How fast is a teacher?"

That seems like a good compromise to Egil.
