Steve all but bounces into the bar today. He has a Thing To Show People!
First stop is the Bar, for an egg cream and burger.

He smiles to the tall blond man as he comes out of the kitchen with a plate of sweet seed cakes. "Would you like one? They're still warm."

He's been in the bar long enough to know how these things work. More or less.

"Free food in this bar tends to have unexpected side effects. But this is delicious, so thank you.
"My name's Steve Rogers -- Earth, 2015."

"I'm Bodhi. Bodhi Rook, from Jedha. I'd give you the galactic year I died but I doubt it would mean anything to you."

"Cinnamon's the best, though. I encourage its usage wherever possible."

He's got a manila envelope under his arm, which he opens to show Barry a slim paperback picture book called The Kids From Brooklyn, with cartoon portraits of Bucky and Steve as children on the cover and "Steven G. Rogers" listed as the author.

"It's just about me and Bucky when we were kids. I guess that's obvious."

"This is great, Steve," he comments as he looks over the pictures and story. "I didn't know you did this kind of stuff."
no subject
"So this is me saying what I remember." He points to a graphic on the back cover. "And my publisher agreed to give my royalties to some veterans' organizations."
no subject
Handing the book back, he offers up another smile. "That's really cool, man. The book and what you're doing with it."
no subject
He puts the book back into the manila envelope. "Thanks. Just trying to put a little good into the world."
And if Bucky is ever exposed, maybe people will be inclined to be empathetic to him, knowing his story. He hopes.

Bucky has ghosted in from somewhere and is now leaning against a wall near the stairs, looking amused and watching Steve.
(Somewhere, in this case, is the ring in the garage, where he goes when the main gym doesn't feel right for whatever reason.)

"What is it?"

“Remember how I made that little book about us as kids?” Steve all but bounces on the balls of his feet.

He's opening the envelope as he talks, and his words break off as he glances down into the package.
"-- this is a book."

“That’s an advanced reader copy of a book about us. For kids.”
