Gabriel has a brand new wardrobe to go with his new height, but since it's all army issue anyway it may be difficult to tell. He's running in the sand by the lake, trying to get a better feel for his changed center of gravity. There's sand clinging to his black tee, indicating he's fallen at least once.
Later inside he'll chill at the bar with a smoothie, banana coconut. He'll still be shedding sand.

Reaper has claimed his usual chair by the fire, angled so he can see the room. He'll be gone by the time Gabriel comes in but for now the bone mask watches the other patrons impassively. On the table near him is an untouched jar of moonshine.

He's at the pells, staying in practice and taking some of his frustrations out. At a point when he's resting, he sees Gabriel running and tries to figure out what's different as he waves.

"Hey, Cassian." He sips his water, still panting slightly. "How you been?"
no subject
He also has some water that he drinks as he sits down, stretching his shoulders.

Cassian remembers when he got his height, it made everything awkward and he felt too loud. To have one when you're older and used to your body seems odd, but maybe its like getting a prosthesis, one more thing to adjust to.
no subject
"Yeah. Part of the program I'm in. More leverage for your muscles if they're longer."
no subject
Gabriel was already taller than Cassian and in good shape, he's going to be daunting when all of this is over.
no subject
"Six-one's tall enough for our needs." Not like they're going to end up on power armor, after all.

"Altering humans like this was illegal till recently. Desperate times, desperate measures."
no subject
He can understand why Gabriel's making the choices he is, it just seems a lot of trust to put into a government.
no subject
"Options are kinda limited, Cassian. Just wish they could hurry it up some, we got more people dying every day. 's why I cheat recovery time by coming here."
no subject
Its an explanation of sorts as he respects Gabriel and how he's fighting for his home.
no subject
"Sorry, man. I forget the kind of soldiers you have to deal with." And if it'll make him feel better, "Hey, I ever go over to the bad guys, you have my permission to shoot me."
He very nearly said 'dark side' there.
no subject
"I don't think it'll come to that."
And he'd rather not have to shoot anyone in Milliways.
no subject
He's really not sure how fighting omnics would lead down that road anyway.
"So what are you working on out here?"
no subject
Cassian gestures to the pells and punching bag.
no subject
He gestures to the post. "What're you practicing on that? Seems a little sturdy for heavy bag work."
no subject
Cassian stands up and goes through the best direct hits to take down a ‘trooper. His jacket provides some protection and he doesn’t mind the pain as it’s a series of moves that’s always been almost reassuring.
no subject
"Seems rough. I'd offer to take a few, but I'm real easy to knock over right now. Unless that's what you're after?"
He'd get a little dirty, sure, but he's already got sand on his clothes. And he needs to start learning to keep his feet under him again sometime.

Which is to say it's been only a couple days since he's been cleared to exercise again.
He gives a wry grin. "Opted for hard mode by running on the sand." He brushes at the grains clinging to his shirt.
no subject
He has been curious to see how Gabriel fights, Cassian suspects their training isn't too different.
no subject
Decided, he gives Cassian a cocky grin. "Sure. Think of it as a handicap."
no subject
"Maybe we should move over to the sand, probably a softer landing."
