Quentin hates this case, he hates how Bridget treats Toby who's trying to help, that now Raj's missing and everything seems to get more complicated with mortal police and Duchess Riordan involved. At least ALH is a good base to be at, he opens a door that was meant to be in the general area of the bathrooms and sees Milliways.

He runs a hand through his bronze hair and sits down at the counter where Bar provides him with a sandwich and a drink while he looks around. Its hard to tell how much time has passed here but he hopes that Yamato's around.

(OOC: Quentin's disguise is down so he has bronze hair and pointed ears.)

Yamato doesn't exactly bound excitably over, because he is always Extremely Cool And Nonchalant, but there's a little bit of a spring in his step as he settles next to Quentin, just close enough for their shoulders to touch.

"You okay?" He asks, as Bar provides him with a lemonade. "You look -- maybe a little stressed out."

Quentin smiles when he sees Yamato and leans back, "This case keeps getting worse."

"Tell me about it?" Yamato asks, nudging a leg against Quentin's. "If you want to, that is."

"My friend Raj is missing, the police are involved and reality might be coming apart," He says quietly as he puts his head on the counter.

"Those are definitely all pretty bad things," Yamato murmurs, taking a sip of his lemonade. "If you need an extra pair of hands or eyes, just say. I can't say I'll be much use other than as an extra person to search, but."

He shrugs. He doesn't really expect that offer will be taken up, or that he'd be much help, but he can't not offer.

"D'you have any leads?"

"I know and if I thought you could help, I would have you do something. Yes, we have a way to track the missing changeling and stop her. That's given us a good lead of where she might have passed through."

"Sounds like you're in the home stretch, then, at least," Yamato says. "Or -- closer to it. Just have to dodge the police, track her down, and bring her in."

Beat.

"I know that's a lot easier said than done."

"Yeah, my illusions have helped with dodging the police and in theory, it shouldn't be too hard. I've just never known a case to go the easy way, ever. How are you?"

"I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. And, er -- be on hand here with ways to help you relax." Wait, no, that sounds like he's flirting, time to hurriedly clarify while blushing furiously. "Like, er, like ... like stuff. Whatever it is you want."

Yamato's not convinced that actually helped, so he clears his throat into his hand and seizes upon the change of topic.

"Back in the Digital World. Met Tsunomon -- er, Gabumon -- again. He doesn't remember me, but we're ... bonding? I think? It's difficult to tell."

Quentin looks up at Yamato and smiles before sitting up, "I'd like that. Oh, that must be weird."

Yamato grins, a little helplessly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Oh, and -- you can come to the Digital World. If you want. When you want. File Island's pretty safe, and I know it pretty well, although it does seem to have changed a little, 'cause there's a cave of glowing flowers that we never saw before, and -- yeah."

He stops himself before he can ramble any more, and gives a quick, awkward laugh.

"It's -- fine. I mean, it could be worse," he says. "And it's a little more fraught for some of us. Tanemon's only just coming around to the idea that Mimi isn't going to eat her, and Pyokomon still won't go anywhere near Sora."

"Glowing flowers, that sounds beautiful. Have any of them remembered you yet?" That all seems really painful.

"They're not -- ..." Yamato's face falls for a moment. He covers it up by taking a gulp of his lemonade and nudging Quentin with his shoulder. "They're not going to remember us. Not unless some kind of miracle happens. It's not like they have amnesia, after all, their memories are just gone altogether." Beat. "But it's fine. I can live with that. It means they've forgotten some of the painful stuff, too, so it's not all bad."

Quentin shifts closer to get his arm around Yamato and give him a squeeze, "Okay."

"I mean it, it's fine," Yamato says, a little wryly, because he's well aware that it's not and that he's not really convincing anyone. He's happy to settle against Quentin, though. "Except that it's a pain having to reintroduce everyone to Tsunomon. Might spice things up by giving you an entirely fake identity when I introduce you. How does King of Canada sound?"

Although Tsunomon doesn't exactly know what Canada is. And that might not exactly be an entirely fake identity anyway.

"We can say you won your crown in a brutal game of ice hockey. It'll be great."

The very tips of Quentin's ears go red as that's closer to the truth than he'd like but also making Yamato smile.

He nods, "Sure, I can pull that off. Where is he?"

Yamato doesn't seem to notice the tips of Quentin's ears going red, but then he stopped looking directly at Quentin at round about the point where he started pretending he was fine.

"Not in the bar right now. But next time, I promise," Yamato says, circling an arm loosely around Quentin's lower back. "Or I could go get him, but I'm pretty comfy like this."

"We could go over to the couch and be even more comfortable. Toby's making a phone call so I don't have to rush back."

"That suits me," Yamato says, downing the rest of his lemonade and standing. "We can see what's on TV. Does time stop outside for you when you're here, like it does for -- I dunno, most but probably not all people?"

"It does and its reliable,"

That's not always true for the Summerlands and he stands up to go with Yamato to the couch.

"Seemed worth askin'. This place doesn't always seem that reliable as far as time goes. I mean, half the time it seems like it's luck of the draw whether it brings in me or small me."

He drops onto one side of the couch, sprawling a little, peering up at the television, which at the moment seems to be showing some kind of post-apocalyptic quiz show.

Quentin sits and then leans into him, resting his head on Yamato's chest,

"No, its kind of like the Summerlands that way."

Yamato settles his hand in Quentin's hair, combing his fingers through it lightly.

"Yeah, sounds like there's a lot of unexpected points of commonality between the two," he says. "-- Although that's maybe not so surprising, the Digital World does seem to function off dream logic half the time."

"It does, I guess that's why you don't find me too weird,"

He closes his eyes as Yamato's had in his hair feels nice.

"Do people usually find you weird?" Yamato asks, absently drifting his fingers up the back of Quentin's neck and into his hair. "I mean, here or outside your door."
