Next to the fire there is a werewolf sitting in a chair reading a book. Not just any book, he's reading The Shadowhunter Codex
From time to time he takes a sip from the glass on the table next to him.

He gestures to the seat nearby.

He's still not quite used to being seen by others.

"What do you want?" he says directly and a bit on edge, though he is starting to calm down his instincts are stronger than most.
[OOC: does Gaster have a scent?]

[I apologize. I keep forgetting that I'm visible now. I was just curious about what you were reading.]
(ooc: He does not, but Clay might notice a bit of static electricity in the air around him, or smell a trace of ozone.)

Bar almost always strips his glamour rune when he comes in, though, and he smells like someone who's been fighting and like the faintly sulfur smell of demons, so it's likely Clay will know he's there before Alec ends up standing over his shoulder like a creeper.
"You found a copy," he says, nodding to the book as he unslings his bow and quiver and leans them against a chair near Clay.
no subject
Clay smiles, "I did. It's quite something." gesturing to the chair nearby for Alec to sit if he wants. Or if he wants to stand Clay wouldn't mind.
no subject
"What do you mean 'something'?" he asks warily. Opinions on Shadowhunters tend to be divided.
no subject
Clay hasn't fully formed his opinion of Shadowhunters.
"This is a good read" he lifts up the book.
no subject
He's been reading his copy since he was about five, though he didn't understand much of it then.

"It's providing insight into your peoples culture. What a society teaches it's children can often show much of the character of a culture."
"There is one thing, how do you handle being in this place with so many mundane's and keeping this secret?" as far a Clay knows Alec think's he is a mundane, unless he can tell that there is more to him.
no subject
He hasn't been trying to keep it a secret here. He's not entirely sure he's met anyone who was truly mundane here.
