An Angry Entry
From a large, heavy, oaken door there is a rather thunderous noise before it slams open. There's an angry redheaded princess stamping right over the threshold, her cheeks flaming and her eyes bright and sharp.
A strident female voice can be heard in the distance. "Merida! Come back this -"
But the door is slammed behind her, cauterizing the wound and blocking off whatever was happening in the house. It's going to take a very, very long time for Merida to calm down, but she's stomping toward the bar proper, muttering under her breath about weddings.
Distractions, please.
[OOC: Setting the stage for Bear!plot, details of which will be in the back room by Saturday! Open til her next post, which should be next week!]

Said peanut gallery is made up of one Cisco Ramon and his porg.
The porg is toddering around the tabletop on wobbly little legs. It is starting to lose its fuzzy down feathers and is clearly new to the whole mobility thing.
Cisco is sewing, hand-stitching together a tiny vest out of what looks like some pretty high-tech material.
"That was your mom, right? That definitely sounded like PO'd mom yelling."

Cisco gets a very loud overdramatic groan. Because Merida is just Not Feeling it. She does notice his sewing as she moves toward him, but overdramatic reactions come first.
"Aye, that was my mom. She's trying to ruin my life. RUIN it!"
no subject
"Unless you're my brother, then it's all sunshine and daffodils with mom."
Throwing a nod at her, he asks, "What's your mom doing to ruin yours?"
no subject
Merida can kind of relate - the triplets are too young to really be on her radar, but they already seem to have more freedom than she does. She has the perfect response, regardlessly. "Oh? Is your mom forcing you to get married to keep the peace among the four kingdoms?"
no subject
"No. I gotta admit I don't always one hundred percent pay attention when she's yelling at me, but I'm pretty sure that hasn't come up. Let me guess, yours is?"

The chick squawks and turns around, ambling off in the other direction.
"--like the guy you're supposed to get hitched with?" Cisco finishes, eyes back on the girl.

The finger-waggling catches the porg's attention and he wobbles in her direction, cocking its head from side to side, observing those fingers.
"How are they going to compete?"
no subject
She keeps tapping the fingers about, to entertain the Porg.

Lifting a pair of scissors he clips the thread and then tests out the seam he just made.
"I know for sure which I'd do."
The porg bounces around, squawking in delight at the dancing fingers.

Normally Gaster tends to stay out of things like this. But the interaction between the girl and who must be her mother reminds him of his own boys when they were children, and he feels a pang of longing for his family.
He glides over to the bar, his laptop open.
Words appear on the screen. [Are you alright?]
(Gaster is now visible, due to the electromagnet in the corner.)

And Merida stops short and blinks in surprise. Laptops have definitely not been invented yet in her time, so she's mildly confused. At least she can read what's on the screen.
"Aye," she says. "I'm just a little angry."
no subject
[Would you like to talk about it, or do you want space?]

He's also quietly impressed that this one isn't freaking out over his appearance.
no subject
She's learned not to gawk; princesses, after all, do Not Gawk Ever.

However.
[But you don't get a say in the matter?]

[That sounds like a very big decision..it'll impact your entire life. Leaving it up to a contest hardly seems fair.]
He'd like to think that Asgore would have been more lax towards Asriel if he ever married...though, of course, he'll never know. Still, he likes to think he would.
