AU week kick off

Things are seldom what they seem,
Skim milk masquerades as cream;

A petite blonde in a bikini top and sarong opens the door, the sound of the ocean and the deck of a yacht behind her.

A grin breaks out on her pretty face. “Milliways. Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes.

She props the door open and carries a bunch of things into the bar – a safety deposit box, a thick file of paper work, and a large duffle bag.

She heads to the bar. “Hello darling. How much to rent some equipment?” She starts emptying half a dozen rather masculinely styled (and overly full) wallets of their cash. Which the bar accepts without question.

If you’re into that sort of thing you may recognise the clever little printer and specialised papers as the sort of thing one might need to forge a passport.

Set up in a booth, the blonde beauty is sipping coffee and repurposing identities. But company is always welcome.

"I didn't know you could do that," says a voice behind her. "In a while, I might have use for your skill, and would pay nicely."

Sona glances over her shoulder with a sultry smile, a shoulder that still has a fading kanji scar on it. "Dear Doctor Lecter. There are a lot of things you don't know about me."

"So it seems," Dr. Lecter says, coming closer, "but I keep discovering hidden depths. It's good to see you again."

"As it is to see you." Sin has lost the Greek accent, sounding... or practising, a hint of upper class British. "Join me? I believe it's my turn to buy us coffee?"

"Absolutely," Dr. Lecter says. "I look forward to seeing what you suggest."

"I'm afraid my taste hasn't become much more refined." He waves over a rat and orders. "I still prefer it strong as death and black as midnight." He does however order a rather specific high quality brand blend. Refined, no. Expensive, yes.

"This does smell very good," Dr. Lecter says, approvingly. He inhales deeply, and smiles. "Very good."

"Of all the things to be addicted to, at least coffee is the most socially acceptable."

He studies Hannibal's face, marvelling at how fast he's reverted back to thinking of himself as male in Hannibal's presence. As if Sona dissolved under those blood stained eyes. "How long has it been for you?"

"About a year," Hannibal says. "In bar time. Three, since we met in our world, in Florence."

Clay notices the blonde enter and watches her empty the duffel bag.

He walks up to her, "You aren't supposed to bring your business into bar." he states.

She looks at him blankly for a moment, shuffling through IDs to work out who is best to answer that. And goes with none of them.

"Do you say that to every child who brings their homework here to finish? That's really not what that rule means."

Clayton doesn't mind breaking human laws but the bar has rules and he has taken this place as a second home therefore he needs to understand the rules, "Then what does the rule mean?"

"It means Milliways is neutral territory. The men whose identities I stole couldn't attack me here, just as I couldn't ask Security to detain them for the sexual assaults they committed and got away with outside the door. What happens outside, stays outside. And as long as people behave themselves here, they can't be judged for their actions outside."

That isn't how it was described to him but it makes sense. "If they came here could I beat them for it?" he knows the answer but he would really want to. There are some things that aren't about the law.

"Not without answering to Security. Not unless they laid hands on someone here." She shrugs. "And I can't see them coming here. At least I hope not."

He nods.

"So," She gestures to the table of papers. "May I go back to my work now?"

Oh, Amanda knows that equipment. "Are those papers for personal use?" she takes a seat while drinking her tea.

Amanda's demeanor is friendly and open. A kind, un-judging expression, on her face.

"Some of them, yes." Sona gives a shrug, shuffling through legal documents. "Others a friend left to me."

"Would you like some help?" she offers. A subtle way of sharing that she is or was in the game.

"Thank you but I think I need to process this lot for myself. See the job through, as it were." she offers Amanda a smile. "But I do appreciate the offer."

Amanda nods, "Fair enough."

taking a couple of sip of her tea, "I'm Amanda"

"Sona." She answers with a smile. "But it'll be Sam in a couple of day. Once I get all of this sorted through enough to use."

"It's nice to meet you Sam"

"Sam still needs work." She smiles. "And a gender swap. But I'll work on that while I'm here."
