College AU Cassian-AU Week
At a table with a view of the door, Cassian's sipping an iced coffee and eating a basket of paradoxes while there's a book about civil engineering on the table in front of him. He's wearing a shirt that says Yavin University Engineering: powered by caffeine.
In theory, he's reading and it is a good book, but he likes being in Milliways and watching the crowd. Also he keeps hoping that maybe Jyn will find her way here, not that he would know what to say, but he thinks she'd like it.
(OOC: Cassian is a hard working second year engineering college student who's been having unexpected meetings with Jyn who works in the library. Longer write up to come later.)

"Looking smooth, Cassian," he says, with a quick finger-guns at him.

"Yeah? There was a ship. I was standing on it. You were like 'you're so cool' and I was like 'yes, that is true, please continue.'"
That's definitely how that meeting went, right? Right.

Beat.
"Still to be decided, I guess," he adds, wryly.

"Not sure I've had the paradoxes before," he remarks, mildly. "What're they like?"

"Can't be too close to finals, you look too calm." she comments with a quirk of a smile, aware she still dressed in a bikini with a sarong tied loose around her hips.
{ooc: Sinric is from a drifting grifter!AU.}

At her order, his eyebrows went up, that's pricey then looks at her and back at his coffee. "Are you on vacation?"
no subject
At that she hums a considering note. "I guess you could call it that. It's been... more of a sabbatical. But alas, it is almost over. And there is always music one must face." her accent as is mostly neutral with little hints of well bred British stock.

Maybe she's one of those Social Media stars or a model, she has that look.

She flicks her hair and sighs. "England. I inherited a small estate from my father which it seems I'll be expected to manage. Something I know nothing about." It's not a brag but a sad admission that she's unprepared.
After all, this identity is new and she's still trying it on for size.

He didn't know those still existed.

"So I understand." She gestures to the pile of paperwork at her booth. "And a grand house on the brink of ruin and collapse, from what the lawyers imply. I seem to have inherited more debt than hope."
She sighs heavily. "I've never even been to England."
no subject
That's kind of odd if her father owned the house unless he was just that rich he had multiple houses. But those kinds of people usually have people taking care of their money and investments.

She takes a long sip of her coffee, lips warm and pink with the heat of it. "I'm the product of a illicit affair my father paid very well to prevent from becoming scandalous. I grew up in India, in the last vestiges of colonial splendour. And now he has died without a legitimate heir. According to the lawyers who contacted me, paying for my education counts as acknowledgement. And thus I've inherited a small portion of an island I've never set foot on."

"It is. But I couldn't live the charmed life forever, I suppose." She smiles softly. "I will, thank you. And what of you? Do you aspire to build cities?"

Its his version of activism and allows him to learn how the world's put together.
