AU week: AU canon; college professor
Sonya entered through her door dressed in a miliways dressed in a three piece suit, a wedding ring glinting on a chain around her neck. She looks a little worn out, a world weariness around her eyes, but in a way she's grown used to hiding it. She was also attempting to talk with someone over a phone, but the words cut off soon as she steps in, the call dropped.
Of course, Milliways would show up now. While she could use the time to catch up on work and look over the students papers, she didn't entirely appreciate an important call being cut off. Not that it was really important, and really, she should've expected it soon as she saw the door.
She supposed she could use some time to herself.
Choosing a seat by the fire, Sonya draped her jacket over the back of the chair. showing a dark green blouse, while pulling the electronic netbook out of her bag. This early in the year, she hadn't had time to give the students an especially heavy work load, but she did think a one-two page paper on a short reading assignment wasn't much to ask either.
Reading the first of many files, she frowned, and wondered if maybe it was a mistake to decide taking on 'first year undergrads'. Even after all these years, her patience still had its limits.
"It's a wonder any of these people made it into college." She said, to know one in particular, before giving in and shutting off the netbook. Right now, she needed to make herself relax.

The unusual name helped. After having to learn names and faces of over a hundred students, any unusual name or feature was a boon.

The last conversation they had, Sonya recalled him trying to convince the others of why they should accept his pieces.
