The front door opens a tiny crack, like it wasn't properly latched and has come ajar. A moment later a tiny nose pokes through, followed soon by a fuzzy head.

A cat, black and white with wide yellow eyes, peeks into Milliways, meowing to announce this new discovery, then slipping through the crack into the bar.

"No, no, no, no-- "

The door swings wide, pushed open by a man in a black mask, a box of kitty kibble in his hand.

He's too late, the cat makes a break for freedom and adventure, and Matt is left standing in the doorway trying to track the feline as it threads its way through the chaos of the bar.

"Damn it."

There is absolutely no way Claire is ever going to let him live this down.

This has gone beyond ridiculous and on to frustrating.

Keeping a hold on the cat he's already captured, Matt kneels to reach down and stroke the cat rubbing up against him, checking to see if it has a collar on.

None of them have collars; but this one is very affectionate. Until it starts trying to catch the tail-tip of Matt's cat.

Matt makes the call. Trusting that the cat he has is the cat he's after, Matt rises, in the process lifting the cat's tail out of range of the other.

"Thanks for making this a headache for me. I'm taking this one," He informs the litter of cats.

If Matt was even a small fan of cats before, he definitely isn't now.

The other two cats wend around his ankles and mewl.

Matt steps carefully, moving for the door, but he's not against using the side of his foot to push any of the cats out of the way. Not a kick, he doesn't hold that much of a grudge against the cats, but a firm sweep to clear the path if necessary.

The cats, however, don't seem to mind much; they turn tail and return to their spot underneath the sofa.
