You know him!
(or maybe you don't.)
You love him!
(or maybe you don't.)
You can't live with out him!
(or maybe you have been this entire time without even realizing he existed in the first place.)
It's Commander Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuumi!
(or it's an older man sitting at the bar nursing a small ceramic cup of rice wine. His Forces dress coat is slung over the stool to his left, and he's slowing making his way through a copy of a newspaper that appears to be printed in Mandarin. Though ymmv.)

Then he gets a nice caf and some fried paradoxes, while noting the newspaper and little cup. "What are you drinking?"
no subject
His brow goes from furrowed-displeased to furrowed-curious at the question?
"Hmm? Oh this?" he ask turning to regard his new drinking companion.
Because...that's what you are now, Cassian.
Congratulations!
"Little bit of rice wine. You know, to take the edge off."
Bumi gestures to the paper.
Why is the news never good?

"I'll have to try it sometime as there's always something sharp out there."

"You are not just whistling Gaoling there, my friend! How does now suit you? You look like you've had...a day."
Before the other man can respond one way or the other, Bar provides Bumi with an additional cup, which Bumi very quickly fills from the small carafe to the side of his paper.

He takes another sip, refills his glass, and then turns to more fully address his new friend.
"So tell me about these days of yours."

Too many Imperials, too much ash and spending time on a planet where its hard to see what can be done are wearing Cassian down.

"What do you pilot?"
no subject
He takes another sip as he likes the heat of the rice wine.

These are all things Bumi was expecting to hear.
Spaceship...not so much.
"Is a spaceship what I think it is?"

"Not so much. It's only been in the last fifty or so years that we even got mechanized flight at all. Before that you'd need either a dragon or a skybison to get off the ground."
And that world? Was almost fresh out of both of those.

Not always without explosions but not to the level of the Window.

"Probably make for safer travels that way."
Less FUN travels, in his personal opinion.
"You know," he says wiping his mouth after taking another sip of wine. "That kind of doesn't surprise me. They seem to be unique to my particular Other Side of the Door.
They're about ten tons, have six legs, horns, and they can fly."

"And then there's the pages upon pages of paperwork, and really who has time for that?"
Not Bumi, that's who!

He barely finishes the sentence before the wide grin sets in.

Its a fair question after sharing about his ship.

Unflappable is a quality he appreciates in a friend. Especially those of a Drinking variety.
"Can't say no to another drink."
As Cassian pours, Bumi continues.
"My boat's called the Noorvik. It's your standard second-class surface combatant battleship. She is 887 feet, three inches long, with a 108 foot, two inch beam."
