Guppy is pouring out tea, rather than stuffing his face, as he waits to see who will come and join them tonight.

Jay is seeing to the coffee. There always needs to be coffee.

"I could definitely use some of that." Bonnie comes up, giving him a peck on the cheek. "Billie's got the chickenpox."

[runningred]

Jay smiles and gives her a one armed hug before pouring her a mug. "Hey you. Sorry to hear that. How's the little mite doing?"

[is_the_motion]

"Cain't stop itchin', poor soul. Just given her a bath in oatmeal and she started eatin' it." Bonnie says, accepting the cup. "How are you?"

"I'm sure Guppy has something a little more effective than oatmeal." He gives her a gentle shoulder bump. "And less tasty."

"I'm okay. Had a... weird but good visit with my younger brother."

[is_the_motion]

"Did he come here?" Bonnie asks.

A handwave. "I'll ask him in a minute, let him finish his dinner."

[runningred]

"No, he invited me to his city for Christmas." Jay crosses his arms, bemused by it all. "I suspect he was using me to prove a point. Several in fact. I'm just not sure to who."

[is_the_motion]

"In March?" Bonnie asks. "Or are we talkin' last Christmas."

[runningred]

"It's only just gone January back home." Jay chuckles, "Proof I spend too much time here."

[is_the_motion]

"What kinda point was he provin'?" Bonnie asks.

[runningred]

"He runs a team of mostly metas - superpowered beings. A couple of them are... Well, dumb alpha males. I think he wanted to prove a point about skill over strength. And to stick it to them that he's not as predictable as they think."

[is_the_motion]

"Whatcha do, thrash'em at Trivial Persuit?"

[runningred]

"Spotted a pattern in the attacking swarm of monsters. Made them follow my lead, even though I'm technically a wanted criminal according to... well, according to B and his people."

Jay grins. "And then he kissed me in from of them."

[is_the_motion]

"Yer brother kissed you?"

[runningred]

"It's complicated." Jay shrugs. "I might refer to Tim as my brother but only because we were trained by the same man. Tim came on the scene about the time I came back from the dead. I didn't even meet him till about two years ago. I expected to hate him, for replacing me. Turns out we have a lot in common."

[is_the_motion]

"I see." Bonnie says. "Kinda. So are you and Tim goin' together now?"

[runningred]

"Nar, nothing like that. Either of us are the... keeping type. But we've got an understanding. And he's getting more comfortable in himself." Which for Tim is no small thing.
