[OOM: Emcee and Eric re-establish their arrangement. (Still in progress; warnings for sex and vampirism.)]
This evening, Emcee orders far more food than is possible for only one person to consume. In fact, the spread that he sets out on a large table is a veritable buffet.
The main plate is a dish of bite-sized sausages, including bratwurst, knackwurst, weisswurst, and for the brave, blutwurst (a separate dish labeled "Vegetarian" contains an assortment of similarly flavored meat-substitute sausages). Accompanying dishes contain sides of sauerkraut, red cabbage, potato latkes, and pickle spears. There are blocks of cheese, such as Rauchkäse, Butterkäse, and Limburger, and more familiar ones like Swiss, Edam, and cheddar. Among the crackers and slices of rye bread, there are baked pretzels, to be slathered with mustard. In the center of the table is a bucket filled with bottles of German beer, surrounded by empty glass steins if drinking from a mug instead of guzzling from a bottle is more to one's taste.
It's Oktoberfest back home, and Emcee is feeling the vibes, as the modern kids say.
Come join him.

Still, he approaches Emcee and the food with the approximate mannerisms of a wolf or feral dog attempting to scavenge off an unattended carcass -- that is to say, warily, with an expression that suggests he's ready to back off at any moment.
"Is the, er ..." He gestures vaguely at the spread. "Is the food for sharing?"
no subject
"Please, help yourself to as much as you like. This is all traditional fare from Germany, so if you have questions about anything before you taste, do feel free to ask."
no subject
"Thanks. It's appreciated, on my side of the door it's mostly just whatever fish we can catch and whatever weird Digital World vegetables we can forage or buy from markets right now."

He glances over at Yamato's selections and passes him the bowl of sauerkraut. "Care for some sauerkraut to go with your sausages?"
Emcee's own plate is similarly laden, but with more cheese, and a piece of pretzel that he's been dipping in mustard.

The kitten dutifully avoids all the icky fermented vegetables, but she did not plan on having to choose between the blutwurst and the knackwurst. Her indecisiveness prevents her from making a quick getaway, unfortunately.

"Oh! Well hallo there, kleine Katze," he chirps with delighted surprise. He speaks to the cat as if she can understand human speech, because here, one can never tell. "You are looking for something to nibble on, I see. Please, allow me to make you a plate."
Taking a small, clean dish, he selects the sausages she'd been sniffing, and cuts them up into little bite-sized pieces. He sets the plate right on the table, because Emcee welcomes everyone to dine with him.

When he's done, she stares at him a bit, deciding whether it is necessary to speak.
Nah, she's a kitten. Why should she speak?
She gets up on all fours again and walks over to the dish to accept the bite-sized offerings.
They taste as good as they smell so she relents and makes a few appreciative nyam nyam nyam noises. Humans like that, don't they?
no subject
"I'm glad that you approve," he chuckles.
She really is an adorable creature.

"Come, join me! Oh, but you might want to wash up a bit. Where have you been?"

"It is called Oktoberfest, sixteen days of festivities from the end of the month of September into October. It originated in the southern part of Germany, but many German cities celebrate it. I think you may have tasted some of this food at my other parties."

And meanders back, following his nose, loopy and lax and grinning.
"Well, you're all set for a party." He observes, with interest.
no subject
"I am always set for a party, darling," Emcee replies with a dimpled smirk, and he offers Klaus a clean plate to fill up. "Help yourself to as much as you like. It's Oktoberfest on the other side of my door, so I thought I might bring a little of it into the bar today."
no subject
Still pausing.
Hold, please.
"Yeah, I don't know, fall? Ish? Haven't been paying attention." He laughs, because Ben isn't here to scold him about it.

Emcee has just arranged some cheese and crackers on his own plate when he notices her.
"Hallo, fraulein," he greets her with a feline smile and a slight dip of his head. "Would you care for something to eat?"
no subject
She is still figuring Milliways out. Or trying to.

"Egil? And who might that be? Regardless, as long as they have no allergies or aversion to smelly cheese, all are welcome."
[ooc: Went through my tags and wracked my brain trying to recall if Emcee has ever met/heard of Egil. Can't recall at all, but if they did, let me know!]

He offers Galen a plate and utensils as further incentive.

She's familiar with most of the food, and she knows the approximate date. It doesn't connect to any holiay she remembers; alas, there are no holidays for things like her.
But, eventually, one of the beer bottles may levitate its way up and out of the bucket, and toward her.

And its destination is the young woman who he'd seen a while ago, with her hands covered in blood.
He freezes. He recalls the strange, psychic ripple that touched his mind, and the mere memory of it makes him shudder internally.
But he looks at the woman with curiosity, wondering--why does she seem familiar?
Could it be...?
"Please help yourself to anything else that you would like, fraulein," he says without raising his voice much, but thinking it very clearly.
no subject
"Thank you," she murmurs, though her lips don't move. "Why do you have so much food?"
