It's been an exhausting few days back in the Digital World.
Yamato looks like he's just about ready to fall asleep as he slopes into the bar -- but his work isn't done yet, so he settles at the Bar and sets out his notebooks and maps, getting to work on a repair schedule, supply logs, and most importantly of all, plotting the fastest route to the portside town where he's set to meet Taichi's half of the team.
It all takes up quite a lot of space on the Bar.
Bar helpfully provides some coffee, but even as he sips it he seems to be in imminent danger of falling asleep, his eyes drifting shut every so often before he jerks awake again just before he can fall off his bar stool.
He'll sleep when this work is done. Whenever that is.

Then he heads to the counter, sees Yamato's sprawl and nodding, then rushes over, asking Bar for a pillow to put under Yamato's head, "Yamato?"

"I'm fine," he says, shaking off the tiredness and grabbing his mug of coffee. "Just need to get this coffee down me."

It probably shows in his tone that the mission didn't turn out quite how he'd have liked it to, even if it was a success.

He rattles it all off in the most flat, dead-toned way possible, like he's giving a report on the weather.

There's...lots of paperwork spread around.
And there's a kid (what was his name? something like 'tomato' but not quite) trying not to fall asleep.
Cassidy digs into his back pocket and fishes out a handful of random pills. Blue ones, red ones, yellow ones. He holds his palm out in front of Yamato's face before he nods off into the countertop.
"D'ya need a pick-me-up?"
no subject
"Thanks for the offer, but I think I'm covered," he says with a wan smile, raising his mug of coffee. "This is strong enough that I'll be rebounding off the walls just as soon as it -- ..." He pauses to yawn. "As soon as it hits my system."
no subject
"Coffee, is that all? Ever tried Red Bull? Once I drank an entire six-pack an' took quite a bit of speed, didn't sleep for like a whole bloody week." He snorts a short laugh.
"What's all this, then? Looks serious."
no subject
"Thanks for the tip."
If it'll help him stay awake, then it's useful advice, after all.
"Supply and transit logistics," he says. "My team's been given orders to rendezvous at a port town a few days west of our position, so I'm plotting out the quickest route there and how many supplies we'll need for the journey. And a repair schedule for the town we're leaving, so they can rebuild quicker."
no subject
Cassidy rests an elbow on the bar and leans against it as Yamato explains what the paperwork is all about. "Hmm, right, that does sound serious. An' boring, but I guess that's to be expected. Sorry, mate, you're the fella with some kinda powers, right? An' a monster friend? Sorry, it's been a while."
no subject
Does that make sense? Yamato's not sure that makes sense.
"Yeah, that sounds like a description of me," he says, a little wryly. "And you're the vampire, right?"
He takes a sip of his new concoction, cocking his head slightly at the taste. It tastes ... frothy. It's a very frothful flavour.
no subject
He hops up onto a stool and settles himself, careful not to disturb any papers or books. "Hope you don't mind if I eat. Want anything?"
no subject
Yamato's not sure he explained that well, but oh well.
"Nah, go right ahead. Maybe smelling your food will make me hungry."
Or maybe not, if that food ends up being blood.

The gust of wind may herald his arrival, but otherwise he looks like he's been sitting there all along.
"Yamato. You look tired," Barry observes, helpfully laying his forearm across the nearest stack of papers so they don't blow away.
no subject
He takes a demonstrative gulp of his coffee, wrinkling his nose a little at the taste. It's pretty much just a mug of extra-strong espresso.
no subject
It turns skeptical a moment later even as he nods to Yamato's words.
"Oh, it will huh? That's cool, should I time it or just... wait?"
no subject
no subject
"I'd dodge it. Now, what are you doing? Why not get some sleep?"
Turning his attention down to the papers and maps, Barry tries to figure out what Yamato is working on.
no subject
He shakes his head, pulling the notebook towards himself. "We rescued Daisuke, so our business in Harwell Town is done with," he says, and while he's dropping into the usual flat, dead tone he gives when making reports, there's a definite hint of brittleness to his tone that he might have hid better if he had more sleep.
"Taichi's ordered us to rendezvous with his half of the team at Berners Port in five days, so I need to figure out the fastest, safest route there, arrange all the supplies we need, make sure the town has a repair schedule for -- ..." He gives another yawn. "For fixing up its damaged buildings. That kind of thing."
no subject
"You did? That's awesome," Barry says, glad to hear they got another one of their friends out. Yamato's flat tone is hard to read though, and Barry hesitates a moment, suddenly not so certain.
"I mean... that is awesome, right? Did-- did it go alright?"
They'll get back to what Yamato's doing and that yawn in a minute.
no subject
He gives a tired grumble, scraping a hand through his hair before downing another gulp of coffee. His tone is still flat when he says: "One casualty. Warudamon -- the Digimon offering that miracle cure for the Infection," he says. "Her cure involved pulling the Infection out of people and into herself. She was already at her limit, and then she went past it and went berserk."
To say nothing -- for the moment -- of the other stuff that has Yamato feeling weird about this whole thing.
"So we took her down."
