May the Fourth Be With The All Skate

The bar shifts, or it changed when no one was looking, and now resembles a certain cantina popular with the villainy and scum, as well as more upstanding folks. The air is dryer than usual, and a taste of grit and sand just hangs in the air. It just makes you want some blue milk doesn't it?

Has your character changed? Perhaps...who can tell? The Landlord I suppose but they aren't talking.

[ooc: HI and Welcome to a Star Wars themed All Skate, the best way to celebrate May the Fourth! Party style post. You do not have to interact with any of my characters to play.
The Rules are simple:
- This post, and any post with the subject heading ALL SKATE are open to everyone.
That means old characters, new characters, retired characters, doubles of characters, original characters, non-canon compliant characters.

The advantage of being from where Fives and Kale are from is that... well, waiters come in all shapes and sizes anyway, this isn't even slightly weird.

"At the same time as what?"

Some things are just as confusing no matter what Galaxy you're from.

"As you were planning on originally," he said. "Spend three days here and only seconds pass out there. So, if you needed to be somewhere in fifteen minutes, you'll still get there in fifteen minutes. Barring any unseen circumstances on that side of the door."

Because for all he knows, Fives could get attacked by droids or something... on the other side.

"Unseen circumstances," Fives repeats back, and adds a wry smirk. "Like getting attacked by clankers, you mean."

Because.

"That or getting stuck in a janitorial closet for fifteen minutes because you're trying to avoid your ex and have the bad luck of him stopping to stand and talk to your boss right in front of the door." That's rather specific there Kale.

Really specific.

"That happen a lot, does it?"

Fives... doesn't date a lot. At all. Definitely not anyone he works with.

"Once is enough. Trust me."

Once is more than enough.

After that Kale learned that dating co-workers is a bad idea. Or someone in the same department... several near-by departments... dating is a bad idea in general...

Right then.

"Would have preferred clankers. Less... well more understandable if you're late for work."

"That's not a problem I've had often," Fives admits.

Late to work is for people with a life outside of work.

Yeah. Hopefully that will change.

"You are a lucky, lucky man. As a piece of advice don't date co-workers. Or someone in the same department... or area... maybe just avoid dating all together..."

Don't listen to his dating advice, Fives.

"Co-workers," Fives repeats, amused. "You mean my brothers?"

It's not something he's really planning to do, believe him.

There is a pause... as Kale's brain rewinds the conversation and his conversation companion. He then makes a brief face as that'd be like dating his identical twin brother. And... ew...

"Erm. No. I mean... well... no...," Kale stammered. "I guess you have the problem of someone mistaking you for one of your brothers. I have that problem with people mistaking me for my twin."

Fives continues to grin - he was aware that Delvar had forgotten that detail for the time. He's very used to people not quite understanding what clone-life involves.

His helmet now safe on the table he taps the side of his head, next to his tattoo. "We go to some lengths to avoid that problem, as it happens."

But that doesn't really address the fact that it isn't a problem. Clones know each other, and everyone else is incidental.

Kale does have a slightly better idea than most having an identical twin. No where near on Five's level, but a hint of it.

"Mum threatened to tattoo our names on Trev's and my foreheads once after some... shenanigans with visitors in town when we were ten."

And yes, that is true.

Fives gives a wry smile. He can imagine the kind of 'shenanigans' but he can't fully relate.

"The Kaminoans would probably rather we didn't. But the Jedi never seem to mind."

'Mums' are an 'other people' thing.

There's a wide grin back.

"I've always wanted to get a look at those devices. Not much into bio-engineering but they'll have an interesting tale to tell," he said. "As for the Jedi, it's funny because they're busy trying to make everyone in the Order be the same. At least that's what my da says when he has a bit too much to drink."

Which has been more frequent the closer they get to Order 66. Kale agrees with him, so he's not let himself be known to the Jedi.

They really are, but Kale knows that she would happily mother any clones that came her way. She might be an ex-bounty hunter... but she's also a mom.

"Guess it doesn't matter if you're not in the Order."

Or, if you're not a person in the same way as everyone else is a person. Fives ignores the remark about his own as a place of 'devices' one might have an intellectual interest in.

"Who's your da?"

"It might later. Since they seem to be the ones running the war. If everyone's thinking the same, then they're using the same tactics and that can make them predictable. And then more people die."

Yeah. Best to ignore the remark. Kale's a tinkerer at heart and well... those are interesting devices! At least he doesn't want to take apart the clones to see how they're "different".

"Calenvir Delvar. An ex-Jedi Master. He left the Order before I was born. Apparently he had a vision of something going wrong" There's a long pause on Kale's end as he dredges up the little pieces his father said about the visions over the years.

"... I think with this war, actually... now that I think about it. Something bad happening to the Jedi and then everything else. If it was, he saw it at least thirty years to early and no one believed him. So he left."

"I don't think that's in any danger of happening yet," Fives suggests. "I've not got a lot of experience with Jedi yet, but so far they seem pretty different from each other."

Well, his Jedi seem different from all the others he's met.

"You've got more interactions with the Jedi than I have. I haven't met any yet. None of them bother to come down to the repair shop where I spend most of my time," he said.

His father doesn't count. Parents never do.

Fives shrugs. Outiside of Kamino, Jedi don't generally bother with most of what the clones do, unless that's actually going out and fighting.

"That might be a good thing. They're not always the easiest to predict."

Which is probably a good thing. Jedi are meddlers. In Kale's opinion. Also he doesn't want any Jedi near him. Force knows what would happen if they spotted him.

"Noo... when it comes to certain kinds of people they certainly aren't."

"Certain kinds?"

Nuh. Nuh. Nuh... meeeh...

"Force sensitives that aren't part of the Order," he said. "Generally think they're horribly evil people and going to go made and destroy everything around them."

It's what he's picked up from his father. Not true. But, what does Kale know?

"Really?"

He's not disbelieving as such, he's just... never seen it.

"Erm... according to my dad that's what happens."

How many non-Jedi Force users has Fives run into? Besides Kale. Who he probably hasn't figured out is a Force user... beyond having an Ex-Jedi father.

"Then he'd know, I guess."

Fives has no point of reference, no way of knowing anything one way or another, really.
