May the Fourth Be With The All Skate

The bar shifts, or it changed when no one was looking, and now resembles a certain cantina popular with the villainy and scum, as well as more upstanding folks. The air is dryer than usual, and a taste of grit and sand just hangs in the air. It just makes you want some blue milk doesn't it?

Has your character changed? Perhaps...who can tell? The Landlord I suppose but they aren't talking.

[ooc: HI and Welcome to a Star Wars themed All Skate, the best way to celebrate May the Fourth! Party style post. You do not have to interact with any of my characters to play.

"My bad, then. I guess I'm not used to magic bars appearing where the mess is supposed to be."

He shifts his helmet under his arm, and shrugs.

"Guess that happens a lot though, people blocking this door."

At the phrase, magic bar, Cassian takes another look around, this isn't the cantina he thought it was and now he notices, this is a clone trooper not a storm trooper,

"Oh kriff, it must."

Now he has to figure out when the clone's from since time in Milliways is strange.

Fives is still new enough that he doesn't catch any of the implications of Cassian's reaction, other than he seems to have been taken by surprise by the appearance of the bar. And he can relate to that reaction.

He nods his head towards the bar. "You stopping for a drink?"

"Yes and I was going to meet a friend at the cantina I thought this was,"

That's probably more explanation than he needs but he'll go with it for now.

[innermuses]

"The way I hear it he'll be there when you get back."

He's heading towards the bar now, hea dover his shuolder just like he'd been talking to Echo when he came in.

"What are you having?"

[childofrebellion]

"They will," Cassian follows after, he didn't expect a clone to be this friendly, "Just caf, its good here."

[innermuses]

Fives is off duty. Clones can be sociable. It's just that they're never off duty around people who aren't brothers.

"Caf then," he orders two and passes one over. Still - the socialising with non-brothers is weird but he;ll get there.

"Fives is my name."

"Thanks," He takes a sip as he decides what name to use, in Milliways lying doesn't make as much sense and its not like the clone will suspect him, "Cassian. What unit are you with?"

"The 501st."

It's still a matter of some pride, having been recruited so soon after graduating. Shiny straight to General Skywalker's unit.

But it's not as prestigious as the 212th at this point.

Cassian goes slightly pale at that, the 501st are the most dangerous troopers but this is a clone.

Though he's heard stories from rebels who are older that the 501st was not to be messed with. He knows they never came to Fest, Fest was never that important, "I guess you must be on the front lines."

Well, Fives would probably argue they're the most dangerous troopers now. Hes got this loyalty thing.

"Yeah, we don't get bored. Not that there isn't enough action on guard duty."

Fives' first supposed-to-be-dull posting ended with the deaths of three of his Batchers.

"Guard duty?"

He can deal with this clone but this is still strange. Maybe he can use the weird time to learn more, knowledge is always helpful.

[innermuses]

"My first post," Fives explains, "straight out of basic training, was guarding and monitoring a listening post on Rishi Moon."

No one's told him about time, yet. Otherwise he'd realise the possibiity that Cassian was from before him, and this might be valuable information.

"Supposed to be an easy job for shinies. Right up until Clankers invaded, killed my batchers and forced us to destroy the base."

[childofrebellion]

"It must have been bad if you had to destroy the base," That seems like a desperate move.

[innermuses]

Don't think that Fives didn't notice he focused in on the base, rather than the deaths of his brothers. But - it's not liek he doesn't know he's just a clone.

"Couldn't have it falling into the wrong hands, could we?" he asks, matter of factly.

Cassian was thinking about the tactic, but he heard about the deaths, that's what war is,

"No, have to protect every place that's yours or else it won't be."

[innermuses]

Rather a determined point of view from a kid this young - clines don't usually get this jaded until after graduation.

"Are you involved in the war?"

[childofrebellion]

He has to think about how to answer but not too much, this is something he learned early, how to talk about the war,

"Yes, there were some battles near my home planet and I don't live there anymore."

[innermuses]

"Where do you live now?"

He's genuinely just making conversation. Sort of. Small talk of this sort isn't really natural.

[childofrebellion]

Cassian shrugs as he thinks about his answer and goes with what was true after the war, that would keep it simple,

"I haven't settled down yet but traveling with others from my home planet."

[innermuses]

Fives can understand that, in a way. Afterall, you don't 'settle' as a clone - Kamino is only ever the closest you'd get.

"You're probably better off staying out of it, then," he advises. He doesn't have a choice, but he'd support that choice in others.

[childofrebellion]

"I'll try, but safety's hard to find in the Outer Rim,"

And he hasn't had much of it since he was a boy.

[innermuses]

Tell him about it.

"Gotta be some place, right?"

Though he's not sure. What do children do, outside of the clone army?

[childofrebellion]

"I guess,"

Cassian doesn't really believe that, even with the Rebellion, there's only safety of a kind. This is a strange conversation, after he finishes his drink, he'll find a way to leave.
