May the Fourth Be With The All Skate

The bar shifts, or it changed when no one was looking, and now resembles a certain cantina popular with the villainy and scum, as well as more upstanding folks. The air is dryer than usual, and a taste of grit and sand just hangs in the air. It just makes you want some blue milk doesn't it?

Has your character changed? Perhaps...who can tell? The Landlord I suppose but they aren't talking.

[ooc: HI and Welcome to a Star Wars themed All Skate, the best way to celebrate May the Fourth! Party style post. You do not have to interact with any of my characters to play.
The Rules are simple:
- This post, and any post with the subject heading ALL SKATE are open to everyone.
That means old characters, new characters, retired characters, doubles of characters, original characters, non-canon compliant characters.

The lightsabers are the same in hilt design, though two are yellow and one green.

"I'd never seen one until I came here," Ibani replies. "We used Sith warblades on Korriban, which were metal."

Ibani hasn't sparred recently, but she fights Force users for real with great regularity. Such conflicts are a GIVEN for Jedi and Sith alike, and they are trained with that in mind.

It is the green that Obi-Wan has chosen, and he likes the feel of it, although it's lighter than his own blue saber.

He also is more experienced in fighting other orce users than he's like to be, given his peacekeeper title, but at least it's fun.

He smiles warmly at her and steps aside, opening his body up to clear a path to the back door.

"After you."

Ibani grabs the two yellow sabers and smiles.

"Why, thank you," she replies as he steps aside. Once they're through the door to the Outside, Ibani looks for a large, open area. The amount of ground two sparring Force users can cover is....considerable, especially when one of them favors the more aggressive lightsaber forms.

"Over there will do, I think," Ibani says, gesturing toward an area near the lake shore.

She grins excitedly at him as she activates both of her training sabers, yellow blades humming to life with a distinctive snap-hiss sound. She swings them once or twice to get a feel. "Ready when you are."

Obi-Wan's so used to fighting where he is, it doesn't ocur to him to find a space. But he follows her calmly, allowing himself a small smile at her excitedness. A Jedi just wouldn't hodl themselves like this, and honestly it's kind of refreshing.

He had his lightsaber inactive for the walk down. Now he holds it up in front of him, activates it again, and holds it straight in front of his face to bow to her as a formal start.

Then he draws a foot back, and holds his saber up defensively. Always ready to let the other be the aggressor.

Ibani mirrors his bow with her own lightsabers.

Ibani is still excited, but there is a feel of focus in the Force as well.

She's happy to oblige him by being the aggressor in this first exchange. She draws the Force into her body, enhancing her speed, and moves into a spin, two yellow blades slashing out a him. She doesn't really expect to hit him with this exchange, more get a feel for how fast he is and how he prefers to fight.

Obi-Wan turns out to be very fast indeed. Or at least, very tuned into the Force in the way that allows near-lightning fast reflexes, fast even for a Jedi. He leaps lightly to the side, raising his blade only enough to deflect hers where his dodge isn't quite far enough. And with that momentum he counters immediately, jumping at her, with his saber swinging from the side.

Ibani uses both her sabers to block, impressed with his speed.

She grins, wickedly playful, and summons a small whirlwind of purple power around him from up out of the ground. It won't hurt him, but he will be spinning around and around for a while until he manages to break out of it.

Well, that's new.

Best way for him too get out of that, he assumes? Force-jump directly up and back, somersaulting backwards to get some distance between himself and the little tornado she's created.

He's grinning when he lands.

"That's a neat little trick."

"Thank you," Ibani says sincerely. "Care to see another?"

And then Ibani vanishes utterly from both physical senses and the Force. It's as if she's popped out of existence! When she said she was handy with a force cloak she wasn't kidding. At this level the technique even works on sensors and droids, things without brains.

Oh. Oh now that's interesting. Obi-Wan is better than most at disgusing his force presence. But this...

He stops smiling only because the expression is fading into concentration, and he raises his lightsaber, closes his eyes, and feels.

He never cared much for physical senses anyway.

Ibani may be something of a freakish prodigy when it comes to force cloaks.

Merely 'removing' your Force presence leaves a 'hole' where something 'should' be that can be detected if you know what you're looking for. Ibani is good enough to 'match' the background feel of the Force as well as bending light, sound, and other sensory input. It takes a lot of mental effort though, and it won't hold if you make contact with anything.

She sneaks around behind him and goes "Boo!" directly in his ear, mouth barely an inch away from it. At that moment, the force cloak shatters and she's suddenly THERE to all of his senses.

(She's almost certainly going to get whacked for that, but it will have been worth it!)

A lesser man would jump, or scream or something.

Obi-Wan just spins around, fast and alert and on the aggressive, his lightsaber flashing around to her midsection.

Not just whacked, if these weren't training lightsabers he'd probably bissect her right now.

He would indeed have cut her in half! Of course, if this was for REAL, she could have stabbed him through the heart or taken off his head instead of shouting in his ear.

She rolls backwards, the lightsaber blow stinging like nobody's business. "Good reflexes, " she acknowledges, still smiling. She circles him for a bit, not rushing to make another attack.

Obi-Wan's smiling as well, now the shock of having someone shout in his ear has subsided.A faint, half-mouth twitching smile, but it's definitely there.

"Not as impressive as you, I fear."

But if he's going to have the speed advantage, he needs to press it, rushing forward, but at the last second changing his attack, jumping up at a tremendous height in order to bear down on her from above.

Ibani steps backwards while forming a shield like she did earlier as a demonstration, but this time at sufficient speed that it is solid in time to block the blow.

She forms another half shield under his feet, leaving him suddenly without traction.

Ah, but he's familiar with this now, from earlier when she told him enough to prepare him. Obi-Wan lets the lack of friction work for him as he lands, and slides along the shield, keeping his saber bearing down on the harder surface of her defensive shield.

Who needs traction when you have the Force?

Clever! Seeing that the lack of friction isn't working, she tries something else with the half shield under him.

She turns the half shield whole, wrapping him in it, then twists the shield's energies so that the shield around him is 'inside out', hard on the inside and soft on the outside.

Then she glows faintly purple with the amount of power she's pulling and launches the shielded Obi-Wan as far as she can with the Force!

"This is hardly a lightsaber duel," he complains, knowing full well they never agreed to a lightsaber duel. But really, who cares?

He's got enough freedom within his embarrasing force prism to control his own body, plant his feet on the side of the shield and push himself off the side, pushing his hands on the side wall of the bubble closest to Ibani.

And then he launches himself back, a straight power struggle with Force on Force, only he's not trying to maintain a Force shield at the same time.

"Force Powers are a part of the Sixth Form!" Ibani replies, briefly sticking her tongue out at him. Brat.

Ibani is strong in the Force, and stronger still since she's absorbed power from both her former Master's force ghost and the force ghost of Darth Andru. She even knows how to burn her own life force to give her additional power in a pinch. But this is just a friendly spar, and it pays to keep some things to yourself, just in case.

She lets the Force shield around Obi Wan go and charges toward him, leaping impossibly high.

'Impossible' isn't really a thing for Force users though, is it?

He meets her at the peak of her arc, saber hitting saber with the all too familiar buzz and vibration of light blades.

He uses that contact as a pivot, turns his body around it and uses the impact to push himself away, landing quite soem distance away, and closer to the lake.

It really isn't, which might be part of why Force users are such feared combatants.

Ibani hops from tree to boulder to tree, moving toward Obi Wan's position. This is the most fun she's had in AGES!

It's been a long time sice he's dueled with someone, against or alongside, who was jyst enjoying the fun, rather than being fueled by fear, anger, or hate. Even Ahsoka struggles with her anger when she's trying to keep her soldiers alive.

He could get used to this.

Obi-Wan pauses for a second after he lands - to the eyes he looks like he's waiting for her, but of course he's just re-establishing his place in the Force, before turning and racing to meet her head on.

Ibani has never dueled with another Force user who was just enjoying the fun. Sith are trained to use the Dark Side, after all, and when her instructors on Korriban piled pain on top of that....

She could get used to this.

She races toward him, swinging one saber high and the other low. She plans to briefly turn off whichever saber he moves to block, then reignite it once she pushes the training saber 'past' the block.

The flaw in that plan is making the plan in advance - it makes it just the little bit easier to foresee her actions, and to double fake - move to block the lower, but at the last second turning so his body becomes the block as he ducks under the higher.

If she follows through on her plan, her absent blade will pass through Obi-Wan himself, and his lightsaber will be where she intended to meet his person.

He's very clever! And better at reading actions in the Force than the last opponent she used this trick on, who lost the top of her head!

His body passes through the 'missing' blade and his saber blocks her other blade. She twists in the air in a move she's going to pay for later in complaining muscles and ligaments in an attempt to give herself some space.

Pure lightsaber work is not her strength, in comparison to other Force Users, which is why she was put on the Inquisitor track and not the Warrior one on Korriban.

She picks up several smallish rocks with the Force and sends them at Obi-Wan as she moves back toward him in a spinning dive.
