Waiting is a lot of what Cassian does, waiting for an asset or a target. Today though, his wait has been for nothing and when he enters the door expecting his safehouse, he pulls off his gloves and heads to the fire.

Cold weather is complicated, it makes him homesick and more if he thinks too much about it. That's why he orders a soup and an ale as he pulls out his datapad to see how much this missed meeting changes his next steps.

Partway through his work, he looks up to realize there's an episode of Tentacles of the Waves on that he hasn't seen before.

"I never really mastered ranged weaponry."

Why would you when you're carrying a sonic weapon that can take down tanks? Now she just lets other people handle the ranged work.

"Hand to hand though, that's my forte."

"I can do both but I'm often on missions on my own or with my droid."

"Oh I wish I had an android to back me up," Dinah says with a grin and a touch of one-upmanship. "Most of the time these days it's just me and my remote partner."

"Back up is back up and Kay can't always be with me on every mission. How remote is your partner?"

Knowing there's something to help is always useful.

"Do you know I don't know?" Dinah says, tapping a discreet bird shaped earring that she's wearing. "She's just a voice in my ear. Could be in Europe for all I know. I know she's planetside, at least?"

"How did she end up in your ear?"

Cassian works with people who don't know him but that seems like another level of trust.

"She sent me flowers," Dinah says cheerfully. "Along with these beauties. She picks the targets, I take them down. It's crazy but it works."

"They must have been really nice flowers. What kinds of targets do you deal with?"

[raptorcanaria]

"Well I used to be a florist," Dinah says with a sly smile that's mildly flirtatious. "I'm anyone's for a good bouquet."

As to the meat of the question: "High level organised crime, usually. Drug cartels, human traffickers, your run-of-the-mill scum of the earth."

He raises an eyebrow as that's an odd sort of flirt,

"It must have been a really nice bouquet. The kind of people that need to be taken down."

"Yep," Dinah agrees. "She's pretty good at tracking them down, as well. Never a dull moment, but I know I can trust her."

"That's important and not always easy to find," Someone you can trust as back up and giving connections is nice.
