We're sorry, Milliways.

But Obi-Wan Kenobi has a song stuck in his head.

He's not doing anything crass like humming or singing it out loud. In fact, he's just sitting quietly at the bar, reading from a datapad and drinking.

It's just that the Force is now echoing with it, and as we all know the Force can have a strong influence on the weak minded, so...

"Is there somewhere else he should have been?"

Really, Anakin, you left your Padawan alone?

And now she's warring with potentially getting her master in trouble and the chance to complain. She decides to compromise.

"We had a debriefing with Masters Windu and Onduli, but I am sure it wasn't that vital and was a great learning experience for me. Captain Rex was on hand to assist as if I needed help."

She doesn't want to go too far down that route though, so she throws out a diversion.

"Have you been coming here long?"

"'A great learning experience,'" Obi-Wan repeats. "Yes I think I remember using that experience when I wanted Anakin to do something I didbn't want to. It's good to know the old techniques are still in practice."

To the question: "Not long, our time. A few visits only. Getting to knbow the place, still."

"It's been a few months since it's appeared for me. May I join you or are you enjoying your peace?"

She's definitely relaxed now that she knows she's not going to be reprimanded or given some busy work type of chore.

"Oh, join me please," he says. "Save me from having to read campaign briefings, for now at least. Did your debrief go well, at least?"

Ahsoka nods thanks and leaps up onto a stool. Once she's settled, Bar provides another cup for tea.

At his question, she pauses to reflect and give a thorough answer. Something she's come to expect Obi-Wan to appreciate. "I think it did, though I can't help thinking it went on longer than it needed to. We won the battle and so that report was easy to provide, as well as what equipment and supplies we'd need to maintain our position."

She tilts her head slightly to keep an eye on his reactions out of the corner of her eye. "But after that, Masters Windu and Unduli spent a long time running scenarios on ways we could have lost the engagement. I am not clear if there was value to the exercise."

She hopes she doesn't come across as criticizing the Masters. She honestly is just looking for the insight she might have missed. Reflecting on how they might have lost is not a practice Anakin utilizes after all.

Obi-Wan pours her a cup and listens. His reaction, when it comes, is a slight twitch in the side of his beard as he quirks a hint of a smile.

"Unduli is nothing is not thorough," he says fondly, "and Master Windu considers every casuality as a loss for the engagement. No doubt they believe such a complete analysis is the best way to improve our odds for next time."

He pauses for the time it takes to set the teapot back down on the table and turn to face Ahsoka.

"I know it seems like a lot of planning for a moment that has passed, but analysis is part of preparation. And I know you are learning the value of improvisation."

But there's more to battle tactics than just crashing a ship and lightsabering every droid you see.

"So it's a practice in seeing what might happen in the future and not a criticism of what already happened? So you might recognize a similar situation and be able to react rather than being caught off guard? Like practicing lightsaber forms to build an instinctual memory." She realizes she kind of rambled there, so stops to take a sip of the tea to give him a chance to speak.

Anakin has pointed out how often she thinks by talking and how it can interfere with others.

Obi-Wan lifts his own cup to drink from it while she talks, his eyes on her and a smile on his lips.

"A pity they didn't make that clear at the time," he observes. "But that is the point of debriefs."

He's really proud of her!
