The door swings open, on two men.
"Well, I guess we're not doing that," Zenigata says as he stands there before Lupin III. The big man's suddenly on alert, watching the bar for familiar faces.
Lupin is far more casual about it -- he's happy to slide into the place like the boozehound he is. "No, look, this just means we can have a proper breakfast, with mimosas."
"Lupin--"
"Two mimosas."
"I didn't--"
"Alright, Pops, you drive a hard bargain. Three mimosa breakfast!"
Zenigata realizes this is the point he's losing the battle -- or was that earlier, he can't quite tell -- and nods, gesturing to a place to sit, a cozy little table. "Fine, we'll have breakfast. Let's flag down a waitrat."
Lupin just saunters to join him, hands in his pockets until he's slouched into a seat across from the good inspector. This is just a stroke of good luck, as far as he's concerned, a delay before the inevitable. The last twenty four hours have been great, if very different than the usual.
[Thread Order: Solo Z/L, Lup, Sunshine, Klaus, Wei Wuxian.]

[For Lupin]
This, he decides, is weird. He had an easier time sitting across a table from his ex-wife signing divorce papers. That was an ending -- finality, something over, a stop and a cease. This is new, newly sprung after years of long tending, and new is frequently uncomfortable until it's worn in.
"How long are you going to be in Japan?" he asks, because that seems to be in the first order. "I'll have mop up, so I'll be there a few days more, at least, unless you rush off to do something else."
Zenigata isn't sure he wants him, or wants him not too.
Re: [For Lupin]
"The boys are already out of town," he says, not providing any details to the man technically still a cop. That wouldn't make the game fun. "I can do a Lupin sighting or two if you want to stay longer, of course."

Zenigata jerks his chin toward the rest of the bar. This place is always here, reachable from anywhere. Convenient.

"That's not what I meant, and you know it," he says, before he finally gentles and gives Lupin that hopeful but abashed smile that he gets whenever he really wants something, but isn't able to reach out and just take it. "I think we can extend the truce here, a little?"

"Called it!" He crows to the wait rat who is bringing him a plate of loaded waffles. "Totally called it."
The rat squeaks at him.
"I mean, yeah, it was, but still."

He has no plan for this either.

"Oh hey, I see you brought a date too." He points at the plate of waffles. "Be careful, they probably lock you up for trying to fuck the food, so be subtle about it while the staff are watching."

"Man, isn't sex supposed to be relaxing?" He asks, rolling his eyes. Lupin's reaction he... well, it doesn't take a genius to predict that. Zenigata thinking he's about to start some shit is a bit hurtful, but hey, folks are weird.
But no matter, he has waffles, with nutella and bananas and whipped cream. It's good shit.

It didn't?
Well, they're there anyway, along with a baker in a good mood but failing to hide any of that residual curiosity.
"Morning, you two!"

Like wolves!
"Not as big as Zenigata's head, maybe - he's built on a different scale," she suggests idly, holding up the plate so Lupin can see the roll and Zenigata's face side-by-side and compare.
Let is never be said that Sunshine is above dirty puns. But is she punning, or just not being mindful of her phrasing? She will never tell.

He meanders into the bar, spinning a rudimentary bamboo flute between his fingers. He doesn't really mean to do anything with it, he just... needed something in his hands. He spots Zenigata, and heads over, looking for a distraction.

This is going to get very complicated, but it's okay. He and Lupin are complicated too.

"Oh, this one would never claim the honor of knowing someone from the great clans." He offers, his tone implying that Lupin must be pretty impressive to be able to claim an association so freely.
Well. Potentially being in danger (again) is... certainly a distraction.

Mimosas? That sounds like an excellent idea.
The elf flags down a waitrat. "Hey, could I get one, too?" It soon returns with a mimosa, complete with a little umbrella. Lup smiles. "Thanks, babe."

Well, woman’s a woman, and Lupin will give her the flirty wink regardless.
