BIG GAY ALLSKATE: Pride Edition!

Well, will you look at who landed tonight?

That's no DJ... but he might just blow your minds.

And as he saunters through the bar, guitar slung over his back, it seems he's brought all the sparkle and stardust in the galaxy with him: suddenly, there's glitter in the air and rainbow bunting draped on every spare surface. Even Tonks' yellow bra, hung somewhere over the bar, has somehow received a temporary multi-coloured makeover, while Bar has started giving out tiny striped pins (and bigger flags) with certain patrons' orders... if they'd like them.

Speaking of patrons... is it the narration, or are there an awful lot of new faces in here all of a sudden?

The Starman props himself up at the bar, one foot comfortably resting on a barstool, and begins to play guitar.

Let all the children boogie, indeed.

All welcome - yes, that means all. Whether they're retired, deleted, AU, original or already being played by someone else, bring 'em in! Just like Pride itself, Bar's makeovers and/or flag/badge-giving is ICly opt-in only - she won't out anybody without their consent.

Usual all-skate rules apply:
1. Everyone's stressed out of their mind right now, so have fun!

3. Gratuitous behaviour (either of a violent or sexual nature) will not be tolerated in the bar proper. Take that to an OOM, and then Content Warning the hell out of it before you link it.
4. What happens in the All-Skate, stays in the All-Skates! Unless, that is, it happens between approved game characters and all muns agree.
5. However, players are welcome to assume that the glittery rainbow makeover applies to the Bar 'proper' as well, if they want to. If they would prefer it didn't, also cool.

7. The Gay Agenda is minded to permit allies to this All-Skate! So long as they don't mind being covered in glitter...

Opera Ghost : Phantom of the Opera (mostly the 25th anniv performance)

He doesn't know what Pride is, but he is big on colorful costumes and parties. Sort of. He's flashy, ostentatious... look, he bedazzled his opera cape, okay? He is not normal. But, at least he can wear a mask and not look out of place in the giant rainbow of color and glitter. (Just don't think that'll make him any less grouchy.)

Well, that is...that is a thing. Razor's going to come right up in his face, trying to figure out where the heck the human's nose went off to (because Razor doesn't know what masks are, and also not what personal space is).

He glares at this invasion. "I do beg your pardon..." And he draws his head back, moving away from this... person.

"Why is...face?" Razor gestures to the mask, then looks a little closer and goes wide. "Fake!" he says, aghast, as he's just realized that's...not actually the man's skin.

What the fuck, you can't just not have a face that's your face, that's illegal.

He barely refrains from waving a very irritated hand at the... person.

"It's a mask. It is not my face."

"Why mask? Are Abyss Order?" This does not dissuade Razor from being up in that personal space, even if he only comes up to the Opera Ghost's chin. It's unclear if it's age or something else that makes him so short, he's got one of those baby faces going on despite his scars and calluses.

Wei Wuxian strolls into the bar from his daily 'attempt to learn architecture by helping baba's project' lesson, and is immediately treated to a makeover. Black and red robes are immediately replaced by a dark blue over lilac purple, with a pink ribbon in his hair to replace the red. There is glitter... all over, honestly, but that just could be from the ambient environment. No one is going to escape the glitter today.

Someone please explain to the poor boy? Before he has a minor panic attack about being in what could be loosely described as Yunmeng Jiang colors without permission?

This is probably the last place where a Catholic priest, even a Jesuit, is welcome; so Father Harman tries to cross the bar room proper and get out on the other side before anyone vents a (most likely justified) grievance on him, or the bar annotates the habitual black, grey and white of his clothes with a bit of purple and lilac. It's nobody's business that his orientation matches his profession.

But when he sees the startled young man by the back door, he can't help but try and be momentarily supportive.

"The bar seems to be having a pride parade," he explains, "which is in September back home in London, but in June for most Americans. That's what she changed your clothes for."

"Pride?" Wei Wuxian echoes, because honestly that's one of the only words that made sense. September? London? June? What?

"In clothes?" In which case, give him his normal clothes back, they were fine.

"It's a parade where people not of the mainstream heterosexual persuasion step out proudly, with rainbow colours and glitter, to flip a giant finger at a repressive society that hates them," Father Harman explains. "It's half party, half political riot."

Wei Wuxian blinks owlishly at that explanation. It at least makes a little more sense, by context if not by actual words.

('What is glitter?', thinks the man that is now shimmering with it.)

"Which half?"

"This half appears to be the party," Father Harman says, mildly. "There is nobody to riot against, here. Well, maybe me, for what much of my church stands for, but I'm the first to argue that it doesn't matter much whom you love or who you are when doing so."

Because the only thing that actually matters is fighting vampires and making sure they don't take over the world.

There is a tiny, possibly familiar photog at the edges of the crowd, wearing a pin on her shirt that roughly matches Wei Wuxian's new fashion color scheme. She smiles, seeing him. "Happy Pride!"

It gets easier the more she says it, even if the thrill of doing so has yet to abate.

Happy whatnow? Madam Yu had whole tirades on pride and why he was the worst about it, but 'happy' had never entered the equation. He buries his confusion and disorientation, a bad coping habit that he's proudly (hah) kept for two lifetimes.

"Max Caulfield!" He smiles, offering a cheery wave that somehow sets off a small glitter storm.

"Oh, hello," her hesitation is visible, though her smile is no less present as she waves back. "That's... that's me, yes."

This person knows her! But how?

"Are you still doing those magic drawings? They were really very good." Very, very belatedly Wei Wuxian wishes he'd put them with the notes he left behind with Bar, but he'd been loathe to give them up. They're probably burned by now.

"M-my photos, yes!" Magic... drawings. She has heard someone refer to her photos as such before, but... Not this person, as far as she knows. "There have been some lovely ones just today, with all the festivities. Everyone is so colorful!"

She is not dressed any different than she was the last time they spoke, really, apart from the pin that matches his own new color scheme. A small, quiet celebration, for a small, (mostly) quiet person.

The robes are confusing. The colors don't align with proper feng shui or elemental alignment and clash in their purposes. He does love Wei Ying in his dark blacks, the deep teals that sometimes shows up, and of course, his red ribbon.

He does not say any of that, though. He just wanders over with a book under one arm, a single rainbow of charms hanging from his belt that he has not noticed.

"Wei Ying," he says. "Your clothes."

"I know!" Wei Ying is so happy someone realizes the enormity of the change. "Lan Zhan what is all this and..."

His brain processes screech to a halt as he takes in the new charms hanging from Lan Zhan's belt. That cannot be allowed in Cloud Recesses, can it?

Lan Zhan pulls a book out of his sleeve and extends it to his zhiji. "The History of Pride. It is complicated. Tu'er Shen festival and historical reenactment over a month's period."

Well, that's one way to explain it.

Oh thank all the little bunnies and evidently the bunny god, research material. Wei Wuxian latches on to it intently, all the while trying to figure out how best to ask Lan Zhan about his new decoration.

"Um. I guess she got you too?" That... works, right? Sure.

"Got me?" Lan Zhan says. If it looks like his lips are slightly silvery, it's because they are -- the faintest lip shimmer accompanies the holographic highlighter glow.

It's a whole Lan look, really.

There's a very scruffy and drab fellow trying to just get through this entire commotion with a small watering can filled with something stinky, and when he does, he's 100% more colourful than he used to be, thanks to all the glitter in the air.

It’s been a long while since Kylo stepped into this place. He had started to think it would never come back, yet here it is in all its rainbow glory. He’s fairly certain it did not look like this before. He would have noticed the glitter.

As it is, he makes his way to bar and orders his customary glass of water before heading to a booth. There, he rolls out pieces of practice paper and sets up his ink supplies.

"Whatcha doing?" Ceilidh asks, popping up from the booth just on the other side of Kylo's. She is coated in glitter.

But she came in this way having been doing arts and crafts. As a five-year-old craft time automatically includes glitter. Rory, who is working on a crossword puzzle is also covered in previously gained glitter. (As is a good part of the kitchen.)
