Cassian feels like everything he's wearing is sticking to him, he had been expecting heat and had prepared for it by dressing lightly. Then when he'd found a perfect recon point, the rain had started and hadn't stopped and his parka was carefully packed away on his ship.

He opens the door quietly since he can't use this roof until he gets different supplies in and nods when he sees Milliways. At the counter, Bar gives him towels and a caf as he peels off his brown jacket before heading to a table near the fire where he can take apart his blaster and check to see that the rain didn't ruin anything.

Phoenix is sitting at the end of the bar, with a glass of grape juice. He calls down to Cassian.

"Did you just come from a rainstorm planet, or what?"

"It wasn't supposed to be that rainy," He says as he dries his hair.

Can't really say I blame him - no one ever knows what to do in LA when it rains.

"Doing an outdoor sort of job, I take it?"

"Yes, getting the sense of a place when the rain started. How are you doing?" He doesn't want to go into the details.

Phoenix shrugs. "Oh, I'm hanging in there. Been about, let's see, four years my side, since I last talked with you."

(Cassian may notice that, along with the outfit change, Phoenix is looking less clean-shaven, and a bit skinnier than last time.)

Cassian pauses in his drying to give Phoenix a look, those four years don't seem to have been kind to him, "Are you working?"

"Yeah, at a local bar. I'm play piano there." He smiles. "Officially."

"I didn't know you played. Do you like the work?"

Cassian knows from experience that cantinas can all have very different atmospheres.

"Oh, I can't play a note. That's why I'm only officially a piano player." Phoenix smiles again, knowingly.

"Do they pay you?" That doesn't make any sense.

"Oh, sure, they do. But most of the money I make is from playing poker there."

That's the kind of bar it is.

A look of understanding dawns on Cassian's face, now he gets it, gambling can be lucrative, "I see. I'll have to be careful if I ever play with you."

Phoenix smirks. "Haven't lost a game since I started there. Keeps people drawing in."

"I can see that. Anyone accused you of cheating yet?" That's a risk when you're too good.

"A few," Phoenix shrugs. "But nothing they can prove."

(He thinks of the Magatama in his pocket.)

"Be careful, you don't want to get banned from anywhere."

"Think I'm good there," Phoenix smirks again. "I've been bringing the club more customers than they've had in years."

Phoenix gives what is an attempt at a friendly smile, reminding himself that he doesn't need to be a cryptic jackass on this side of the door. "How about you? How have you been?"

Aside from dripping wet, that is.

Cassian returns the smirk with a nod, "That always helps. I've been busy, always on the move."

Understandable - that galaxy map he showed me that one time was huge.

"Does it ever get tiring, all that traveling you do?"

"Yes, some days I get sick of the inside of my ship."

"Mm. What do you do then?"

"If I'm close to some place and its safe then I land and take a little break. I try to plan my trips so I'm not in my ship too long," He tries to use this travel wisely.

"Makes sense." Phoenix cocks a small grin. "I'm sure not every planet out there is cold and rainy."

"No, they're not. Some are hot and dry and others are full of cities."

"Meanwhile, I'm in LA, stuck with both." Phoenix gives a soft snort. "Must be nice, being able to go wherever you want whenever."
