Out back, the sound of heavy wooden swords crashing together competes with the more natural sounds of wind and water and demon bunnies. The training area is occupied by two figures today, both having a wonderful time. Glorfindel is in his hunting greens and browns, gems sparkling in his braided hair. He moves with a feline grace, dancing circles around his opponent.
Wei Wuxian is doing his absolute best to not get flattened too badly, but he can't resent losing. He's going to be so very sore when he's done, but there's nothing quite like going all-out.
Yes, he tried to hold back earlier, but got smacked into the dirt for his efforts. He's learned better.
Come watch, or take pity on Wei Wuxian and give Glorfindel someone else to practice with before the poor boy eats dirt again.

Lucifer is making his way down the path with the look of someone who really thinks someone ought do some landscaping here, preferable adding a concrete path and some decent lamps.
Honestly.
When he spots the two combatants he adds 'and a lawn chair' to his mental list of things he'll suggest helpfully at a later date, and saunters over, all well-groomed and well-dressed and smiling.
"Do carry on."
He'll just watch.
He's just a man in a very nice suit. (He's not at all a man. The suit is nice though)

But they are here.
And it does certainly appear to be a patron.
Two sets of eyebrows rise, but... well. What can you do? This place is weird, and the whatever-it-is isn't being overtly hostile. So.
Wei Wuxian yelps when Glorfindel tries to take advantage of the momentary distraction.

He merely leans against a tree and calls out appreciation for well carried out thrusts and parried thrusts and what have you.
He really should have brought a drink.
And nibbles.

Glorfindel is polite and doesn't outright laugh at him.
Which is fine, Wei Wuxian does enough laughing for the both of them, though his is breathless.

"Well done! Lovely footwork."
He seems sincere if a little forcefully cheerful.

"You have an interest in swordsmanship?" Wei Wuxian asks, used to conversing with all sorts of beings.

"I'm really more of a melee-type myself but I do enjoy nice swords."
He does not look like a melee-type. Unless it is also the name of a fancy drink.

If Wei Wuxian tried to wield Suibian now, he'd be unconscious within minutes. It's a bit of a problem.

"Physical harm is frowned upon here. Or so I've been told."
Because he has paid attention and has done no physical harm.
Not that he has had a reason to.

She'll cheer for Wei Wuxian and Glorfindel both when either of them does something clever in their sparring.

You betcha.
Which is how when Wei Wuxian attempts a flying leap his core isn't anywhere near ready to support, he ends up nearly eating dirt, only saved from a painful landing by Glorfindel's firm grip on his collar.
Guess who usually had to catch overeager elflings on the regular, once upon a time?

Will there be snacks and refreshments for them when they have worn themselves out?
Absolutely.

Wei Wuxian is giggling at his own defeat, so it can't be that bad. Glorfindel reaches over and carefully, gently, over-dramatically, thumps Wei Wuxian over the head with the remaining sword.

"I would avenge your defeat," she adds to Wei Wuxian, grinning. "I would - but there are pies in the oven..."
And Glorfindel could likely hang her out to dry with even greater ease.
But mostly the pies!

"And of course you should have some pie. Both of you."

"Miss Sunshine, you will spoil this youngster - I will eat his portion to help him become fighting fit." Glorfindel offers, over Wei Wuxian's squawk of protest.
no subject
"It would be dreadful to stunt his progress with pie, even if they will be out of the oven shortly."

The other man is unfamiliar, but that makes Caspian, recently returned from a tour aboard the Princess Royal and heading towards the stables to check how they've been kept, no less sympathetic at the beating he's taking.
Caspian pauses in his stroll to watch; he manages to hide his wince at the next time the slighter, dark-haired man goes down, but not very well.

Glorfindel has learned that this Man is just as much of a gremlin as any elfling he's ever trained, so... he isn't nice.
"Even passers-by are feeling sorry for you, youngling - surely it is time for a nap?" He asks, sugar-sweet, and grins like a fox at Wei Wuxian's outraged grumbling.
