In a timeline where she never came in contact with Karr, Ace is sitting at the bar, sipping on her chocolate/peanut butter smoothie and deep in 'Kidnapped'. She looks up at Deadpool's approach.

"Hey, he's got eyes, folks!" Ace snarks. "Didn't you notice it's rather too cold now for that sort of gear?"

He shrugs. "Actually, I hadn't. You forget, I come from a world where EVERYONE wears spandex. EveryWHERE." Actually, it's pretty awesome fighting the spandex avenger lady types in cold weather. Headlights a-gogo!

Deadpool sees the hostile*, sees the shot, and tackles Ace, knocking her to the floor with him atop her. "Fuck!" Was it fast enough to dodge the shot?

"You alright?" He looks up and around for the would-be assassin. "Who the hell?"

*again, the man is a hired killer. He knows an attack when he sees one.

Ace blinks dazedly yet again up at Deadpool. Bloody he... Hey. This isn't half bad... actually...
"'M fine, Deadpool. Really." She smiles up at him.

He kind of gawks down at her. She IS nice and soft. "Good. You didn't get hit, right?"

She's smiling. That's weird. Shouldn't she be... you know, angrier?

"Hit? Whatever are you talking about? You worry too much." Ace informs him cheerfully. She doesn't seem to be in any hurry to move.

But that doesn't stop Taelia from dropping by tonight. A certain someone is spotted across the room, and she heads over.

He grins broadly and gives her a fingergun. "Lookin' good, Taelia. How's things on Terror Mountain? Still terrifying?"

"As always. Though things slack off for me on holidays, occassionally, so, I figured I'd stop in, and get a drink or two."

"I also got something for you. I'm guessing they have Valentine's day in your world as well?"

Taelia is doing her best not to grin. From the sleeve of her coat (yes, she can hide just about anything in there), she pulls out a folded t-shirt, and hands it over to him. She's guessed his size properly, it should fit over his normal outfit.

On the front? The logo reads "Valentine's Day Massacre" with a devilish cartoon cupid leaning against the letters and holding a sniper rifle. Under that, in smaller letters, are the words "Are you ready for Round Two?"

He inspects the t-shirt. "This... holy shit, I... uhm... uh... wow. I mean, I don't think anyone's gotten me a Valentine's Day present since.... Since I can't remember." He doesn't sound sad, he just sounds *shocked*. "I... Jesus. Thanks?"

Then, quieter, "uh... i didn't get you anything. i didn't know if you did that on your world and figured it'd be a hassle to explain and maybe i'd wind up looking like a retard since we just met and all."

He's so cute when he's apologetic. (It's also EXTREMELY rare. Cherish.)

"Don't know if you'd quite call that a Valentine's day present or not." She laughs, resting her hand on his arm for a moment.

"It just... appealed to my sense of humor, so I thought that maybe you'd like it too." A wing-shrug, but she's still grinning.

She touched him. Oh man. "Yeah... I mean, it's a great shirt. It's definitely getting worn around the house. I mean, not that I wouldn't wear it on the job, but I wouldn't want, you know, blood and stuff to get on it." For someone who's usually so glib, he gets awful tongue-tied sometimes.

The snow faerie giggles. "They also had a shirt almost like this, except it clearly said "The Sequel" and had fake bloodstains on it. I was tempted, very tempted. Oh well. You're welcome though, I'm glad you like it."
