"Wedding gear?"

My aunt and uncle are getting married soon, *Meg explains, with a certain degree of pride.*

"Ah. They have my congratulations."

He blinks.

"Um. I'm assuming that one of them isn't actually your uncle or aunt in truth yet, though...?"

*Meg grins.* No, my aunt's only sort of honorary. Until the wedding, of course. I helped her pick her dress, *she adds, even more proudly.*

"Oh, good. For a moment there I was worried. About your aunt and uncle marrying, that is, not the dress. I'm sure it's beautiful."

*The dragon wrinkles her nose, and looks rather surprised to see a small puff of smoke emerge.*

No incest in my family, thankyouverymuch.

"Good. Keeping it in the family only works to a certain extent, and not when it comes to sex."

Can we change the subject? *Meg says plaintively.* It's hard enough to avoid mental squick when your father is the anthropomorphic personification of desire -

Alex blinks.

"Your father is Desire?"

*Meg blinks large dragon eyes back.* Oh, didn't I ever tell you that? Yes, that's sort of how hesheit got involved.

"...I see."

*Meg makes a face.*

I love my father, but every so often, hesheit just decides to meddle . . .

"It's the job of fathers, or so I'm told."

Most fathers, *Meg grumps, blowing a small, irritated puff of smoke,* aren't insanely powerful beings that help control the universe.

"Well, no, I'd hope not."

I'm not anything other than human, though, *Meg adds.* In case you were wondering -

Well, I mean, at the moment I'm not human. But.

"Good to know, Meg."

You're still giving me that look, *Meg says, with a grin.* Honestly, it's not that weird.

"I... think I should drink more tea."
