Jack is in the bar, being his usual insulting self and calling people 'bar-keep.' He rented a room last night as he's still bound, and he's not found Daniel yet.

Jack remembers when he didn't have grey hair, and Mac is a bitter reminder.

"Oh really?" Jack snarks. "Now why would he think that?"

Mac sneers - something he doesn't do often, but this is too weird.

"Maybe because we look remarkably similar?"

*yes! Jack-snark!*

"Your nose is too crooked, your eyes are crossed and you don't have my distinguished silver hair."

"So just who are you, anyway?"

[ooc: Glad to please. Though it hurts to snark at Mac. Deeply.]

Aside from the lack of 'silver' hair, the rest isn't even remotely true, but he refrains from resorting to school-yard bully tactics and lets it all roll off.

"Name's MacGyver."

[ooc: yes, I know - it hurts him to be snarked at - but it's soooo funny! And, yes, Jack may recognize his name if you decide he should - considering Carter mentioned 'MacGyver'ing' something in the 1st freakin' episode!]

"Oy. MacGyver, huh? Not Jack? Ya sure about this now?" MacGyver... something about that name does ring a bell.

[ooc: Heh, I remember! I just didn't want to pop Mac's canon. Maybe Jack doesn't watch the show?]

[ooc: sorry just making a comment real fast. Jack has never heard of the show except from Sam, and even then she didn't clearify it was a show. Also it was when they found thesecond gate and Sam and Jack where stuck under a glacier. and btw if you want me to jump in as a ref at some point I will be here for about an hour longer. happy hunting and hope I helped out some ^_^]

[ooc: Hello you. That's good, I didn't want to pop Mac. It's just if the Simpsons or Starsky and Hutch comes in that we have to worry.]

[ooc: also - Sam does ref Mac in the very 1st episode - she tells Jack and Daniel - when they see the DHD on Abydos - that it took them 'X number of months and 3 supercomputers to 'MacGyver' a system' to make the gate work-- anyway - I've already given ppl who WOULD know Mac permission to recognize the name IC'ly... we're all good.]

"Positive. Name's MacGyver."

He repeats - only because Jack seems a little slow on the uptake.

"Well, Mac," He grins. "How about I buy you a drink?" That's probably the closest to an apology Mac's going to get...

Mac looks a little confused, but since it doesn't look like he's going to get shot any time soon, he's okay. "Uh, sure. Coffee'd be great."

"What, too young to drink, pup?" He sighs, but goes to order a coffee and a Guinness anyway, looking slightly wary of the bar he shot at.

He hands Mac his drink. "I guess you want an explanation? How much has Daniel already told you?"

"No, not too young, just don't." It's not as snarly as it may seem.

"Explanation's good. He didn't tell me much."

"Me an' Daniel, and some other guys. And a girl. We save the world. A heck of a lot." He pauses, to let this sink in. "Shouldn't be a surprise in a place like this, really."

"We met some doubles of us. They were evil, sorta. I didn't like them." he looks resolute. "And until I see Daniel, I'm not ruling out the fact that he could be tied up in the basement with some blue sushi monster, agreed?"

"I think he might have mentioned the saving the world part. Or... maybe that was someone else. I'm not sure. You look the type though. Crashing through doors, making sure people are okay. I've known military types like that."

He shrugs. "I talked to a car once, nothing surprises me anymore." And he frowns, because he doesn't really remember talking to a car, but he *does* remember talking to a car. Weird.

"Doubles? Evil? Right." He shakes his head. "I don't think there is a basement and the last time I saw Daniel, he wasn't tied up or with a blue sushi monster."

Though that image is highly amusing... or confusing... maybe both.

"Sweet. Well that's reassuring, even if I'm still not sure I trust you."

"So what do you do, Mr. MacGyver?"

"A little of this, a little of that. And it's just MacGyver."

"A little bit of this, a little bit of that? Whoa, secretive. So, you in the military too then?"

"Nope. Worked with 'em before though. Not so much secretive as it is 'the list is really long' and I'd hate to bore you."
