When Lantash speaks, Jack's expression says 'Whoa' - he's never quite got used to the whole Bodysnatchers thing. But he knows better than to say anything; despite what certain archaeologists might think about his lack of social graces.

He parks his ass in the chair, so to speak. "Well, that told me."

He has already had the 'goddess - are you really or are you just pretending so you can rule over an alien race who worships you,' conversation with Eris herself. He's still not comfortable with the idea of anthropomorphic personalities running around the bar, but what can you do?

"Trying to be involved with? What, don't tell me she's resisted the ol' Jackson charm."

"I believe I may have fared better than Martouf lately, Dr. Jackson, but I am not affected by the negative energies of anthropomorphic personifications of nightmares as others can be. Martouf had no nightmares, but the residual effects were not pleasant."

He noticed the look on Jack's face: "Something on your mind, General?" Lantash does take a bit of pleasure in 'spooking' Jack when he gets the chance. A little getting him back for the whole 'snake head' and 'Marty' thing.

"It's...complicated." Daniel sighs softly and looks away from Jack, focusing on Martouf instead. This is probably a conversation he'll need to have had more than one beer for.

"I'm glad to hear that Martouf didn't have any nightmares...but sorry about the rest. I wasn't here, so I was spared that."

"Huh." Jack rolls his shoulders in a noncommital manner. "Complicated. What is it with us world-saving types and complicated relationships?" He also looks slightly jealous, even if he's not sure why. Eris was a pretty lady though.

"I'm gonna get another round." He grins. "Will another Bourbon suit you, Marty?"

Lantash nods to Daniel - which is two things - a 'thank you' and a return to Martouf.

"Thank you, Daniel."

Martouf quirks an eyebrow at Jack. "That would be fine. Thank you." Beneath that is a slight snarl at the nickname.

Daniel smirks at Jack. "Better apologize to bar for zatting her before you order, or she might give you something you don't want."

Martouf gets a sympathetic look in response to the nickname.

Jack approaches the bar carefully. He addresses the thin air, not entirely comfortably.

"I'd like two bottles of Guinness, and a Bourbon whiskey." Nothing happens.

"Please." He adds as an afterthought. Still nothing.

He looks round at the others for help, and Daniel inclines his head in a way that says 'Go on, get on with it.'

"Aw, for cryin' out loud." He coughs, and addresses Bar. "Look, doll, I'm sorry for zattin' ya. I was trying to zat someone else, who probably also didn't deserve it. Can I have my beer now?"

One bottle of beer appears, alongside a Bourbon whiskey and an empty packet of Froot Loops.

Before Jack leaves, Martouf, with a look of utter astonishment, says, "You 'zatted' the bar?"

He looks at Daniel and twitches an eyebrow, understanding the look - which is much different from The Look.

He is, however, quite amused by Bar's reaction to Jack's apology.

He looks to Daniel again, "Who was he attempting to shoot with the zat'n'k'tel?"

Daniel, too, is vastly amused by Bar's reaction; he snickers softly and makes a mental note to encourage her to give Jack a very hard time.

In response to Martouf's question, he shrugs. "I don't know. I'm just glad he used the zat and not a gun."

"I've told you, there was a mini-me running around. he wasn't evil, but he did need a haircut." he shrugs, as if that fact justifies everything.

Jack comes back to the table and looks at the single Guinness. "I think that's yours." He hands the bottle to Daniel, gives Martouf his whiskey and sits down, staring mournfully at the empty packet of Froot Loops. He's not eaten since he came to the bar, and She knows it.

"Indeed. Bullet holes would have been very bad." Which is such an over-simplification of things.

"A mini-you?" Martouf quirks an eyebrow at Jack. "What do you mean a mini-you in need of a haircut?"

He really does try not to laugh at the empty cereal packet in front of Jack, but is unsuccessful.

Perhaps Daniel understands Jack better than Martouf, or perhaps he's just a little too bright for his own good. Whatever the case may be, he makes the connection instantly. "...you zatted MacGyver, didn't you?"

Yes, Jack-speak is among the many languages Daniel has learned.

"Well, that's what he called himself, yeah. The hippy."

He's watching Daniel drink his beer. So very hungry.

Martouf tilts his head. "MacGyver is not a 'hippie', Jack." What? Martouf knows how to read - and - he has nothing else to do while he's here at the end of the universe.

[ooc: ahhh - so so glad that was in the memories...]

Daniel sighs again. "I suppose I should be glad you didn't shoot Eris. As much for your sake as for hers, since for some incomprehensible reason I've gotten used to you and wouldn't want to see you made a greasy spot of. ~~Plus, you're kinda hot.~~"

~~Talk about subtext!~~

"Sweet." he grins sarcastically, but the effect is somewhat ruined by his stomach growling. He leans over Daniel to steal his beer. "Gimme that."

~~Even Martouf can read that.~~

Martouf glances between the two men, but says nothing.

~~Wait until Martouf finds out Jack's gonna be sharing Daniel's bed. Room. Bedroom. Cough.~~

Daniel, who is still not too fond of beer and is accustomed to Jack stealing them from him anyway, relinquishes the bottle without argument, frowning slightly when Jack's stomach growls. "When did you eat last? Never mind, I can guess." He gets up and walks over to Bar. A few minutes of flattery, cajoling and apologies for Jack's trigger-happiness ensue. When he returns, he's got food, which he puts down in front of his friend, and a cup of coffee for himself. "Eat that."

Steak. And potato. Bar must like Daniel. All the flattery.

Jack watches Daniel apologising for him with amusement. Yes, this happens quite often. He has to admire Daniel's way with women, whatever those gestures in his direction might mean.

As soon as the food is set down in front of him, Jack pounces. Only about half a minute later, with his mouth full, does he think to smile and say "Thanks."

He stops eating for a second and turns to Martouf. "Want some?"

Wait 'til Daniel finds out that Martouf isn't as clueless as he may seem. *eg*

Martouf quirks an eyebrow at Jack and his half-devoured plate. "I'm fine, Jack. Thank you. Please, don't stop on my account." Which, he very well knows Jack wouldn't've anyway.

The entire montage was rather amusing - especially watching Jack watching Daniel make apologies to the bar.

He tilts his head and addresses mouth-full-of-food Jack again. "Have you also apologized to Jeremy?"

Daniel very carefully does not comment on the full mouth. He does, however, return the smile. "Sure, Jack." Pause. The Look Returns. "Jeremy?"

Jack also looks confused. "Jerem-" He nods at Daniel. "What Daniel said."

He really could have fun playing this out.

"You were rather insulting to him the other night, Jack."

He thinks he might just do that...

Jack insults a lot of people on a day-to-day basis. "Whowiththewhatnow?Was that the wizard guy?"

Martouf shakes his head. "No, not the wizard."
