"Good evening, ladies and gentleman. Welcome to Milliways Happy Hour. Specials tonight on tequila, nonalcoholic drinks and anything with Jagermeister in it."

"Step right up, don't be shy, there's enough booze for everybody."

Eddie's eyebrow quirks, but he puts that aside for the other question so he can beam some more. "Terrific. Jake's all better, after a minor hitch."

Now that makes Val grin. Hugely. "Oh, that's wonderful. Does he have his memories back now, or is he still not remembering things?"

"Oh, you ran into him before, huh? Nah, after we liquidated the man in black, his memory came back."

Another grin. "Awesome. Yeah, I ran into him last night, and he didn't remember me at all. I was worried for a while." A gentle twinkle in her eyes, that turns slightly dark. "I'm glad that frelling man got what was coming to him. He deserved it."

Eddie's grin is like a razor blade, and his hazel eyes are hard. "Yer bugger. He had a long list of sins to tot up before he ever set foot in this place, believe me. He has crossed the White, and been consigned to the black, give him joy of it."

"I hope he stays in the black and never comes back." Her eyes darken a bit more. "Anyone who messes with people like that, messes with their minds and hurts them that deeply should go to oblivion and stay there permanantly."

"Death took him," Eddie says with a shrug. "He's gone where the bad ones go, hiho, hiho hihoho. Or part of him is. He split in two. I think part of him was eternal. Not human. Just...a force of Discordia."
