He doesn't have to ask twice. It's been forty-eight hours since that light supper with Gil, and Richard is starving. He cleans the lot up without a word.
"Pull a Lestat?" Louis raises an eyebrown. "On the advice of Mr. Talbot I've been preparing my townhouse for visitors, and it's hard to get a contractor who'll work after hours."
He looks--and sounds--very suburban and normal. Even with the long hair.
"There's a bed," Louis says, laughing softly. "Plenty of room for two. Very nice sheets. New insulation. Thick heavy curtains against the sun and a view of the bay out the balcony."
"You'll damn do what you're told, Richard. I can feel it in the link that you're still weak. You're going to be spending most of the week in bed, recouperating."

"Hope he comes in today. If not, we can get a room upstairs."
no subject
He orders a root beer from Jeremy.
"Why can't you just call to Louis like you do with David?"
no subject
He looks around casually. "'The Dark Gift is different for us all', Lestat says."

"Louis is the most mortal of us all. He can entrance people, but... usually that's just luck, or good looks."
no subject
"You know, I get on better with Louis than I thought I would. He comes off as a whinging ponce in his book."

He grins and sips his root beer.
"But, really, he's nice to talk with."
no subject
"You can see why I loved him, can't you?"
A soft smile.
no subject
"I'm sort of surprised that you left him. You both had infinite patience for one another."
no subject
A shake of his head.
"Besides... he didn't love me."
no subject
He slides his hand across to hold Amadeo's.
"I don't think that's true. I think that Louis is just quieter about his love than most."
no subject
"Thank you, love. I'm... despite it all... glad you haven't turned. I don't want you changing for me."
no subject
"It would have been for me as well but......it's just not me."
no subject
"I know, Love."
no subject
"Hello, newlyweds." He studies Richard with some worry.
no subject
"Hello, Louis, I'm sorry that we missed you yesterday." He looks over Louis' clothes. "What have you been up to?"
no subject
And then facefaults.
"Tell me you didn't pull a Lestat."
no subject
He looks--and sounds--very suburban and normal. Even with the long hair.

"Go on, tell us the truth. You were building the house, weren't you?"

He grins.
"I do hope you've had a bed installed for us, Louis."
no subject
no subject
"That sounds perfect, Louis. Thank you very much."
no subject
"Yes. Thank you. It's a kind and most generous offer which we're rather in need of at the minute."
no subject

"There's always so much going on in Milliways and New Orleans. It's nice to get away sometimes."

"I'm ready."

Bad Richard, no cookie!Leave them alone."He picks up one of the suitcases, leaves the other for Louis, and mock-glares at Richard.
"Rest and relaxation, Mayhew."
no subject
no subject
"Fine. I'll rest, but not for long. I really am healed."
He follows them to the door.
no subject
"You'll damn do what you're told, Richard. I can feel it in the link that you're still weak. You're going to be spending most of the week in bed, recouperating."
Among other things.
But he doesn't let them hear that.
no subject
"Yes, Mrs. Mayhew, I'll behave."
He swats Amadeo's ass.
"Now let's go before Louis leaves us."
no subject
On the other side is the empty pantry in Louis's kitchen. He steps out. "Ver y convenient, you see," he says mildly. "The reason I bought the place.
"Come on in. Make yourself at home."
[ooc: Trillian won't reconnect me :(. I'll have to download and install Y!M if we want to continue. Let me know if he should just stop here.]

And Amadeo takes Richard's hand in his free one, and steps through into the kitchen.
"Right, so where's our bedroom?"
Hey, the boy has his priorities right...

Richard laughs as he's pulled away.
"Good night, Louis!"
