"What's your connection? Hmm? What've you got to do with this?"

"Through the portals, how else... what is this place?"

Because it's not the Cube, at least not any room in the Cube that he's seen...

Maybe not a hard concept for someone who survives by killing alternate universe versions of his friends... but LaCroix can't know that.

Simon looks at the explodey stars, narrowing his eyes.

"Right. And there aren't... rooms that repeat or fold in on each other or anything like that?"

"Not that I know of. But this place seems to consist of everything, so I'm sure if you try hard enough, you can find them."

LaCroix watches Simon over the rim of his wine glass. What a strange mortal he is.
