Not again...

Pre-Milliways: Virginia is frustrated.

The door actually changed into a mirror before she stumbled through. She looked around, confused, her face clearly twisted into a look that could only be described as "WTF?"

She was used to ending up in strange places.

They weren't usually bars.

"Where's Wendell's attic?" she asked the bar at large.

"Oh come on, I wasn't really going to." ...or was he.

Wolf gently rubbed his nose against hers. "We should find out how to get a room, pork chop. They have them upstairs, I guess. It's getting late." And there was no way in any sort of hell that he was going to let her sleep outside in this weather.

Hmm. That whole money thing again. He really needs to talk to somebody about finding possible employment. ...or maybe he'll just build her a house out back. ...that would take a while. Either way, it's a room for tonight.

He's ignoring the repeat.

"Yeah, they do. Rentable. The bar keeps a tab for you... And I guess it doesn't mind being a little forgiving if you can't pay it back right away."

Mmmm, a room sounds really good, actually. While he can handle it, sleeping in the snow isn't really the most comfortable thing. And a bed sounds really good. Particularly if it comes with a certain heroine in it.

"Lead on, my dreamy heroine!" He bounces up, tail wagging.

He didn't particularly mind being drug about the bar by the most beautiful woman he'd ever set eyes on (and that includes the one sitting on the bar, over there. Topless. (http://www.livejournal.com/community/milliways_bar/3602396.html?thread=142249180#t142249180)

Virginia suddenly stopped against the bar; Wolf stopped beside her. He was like a fifth appendage or something.

"..." He's staring at the key, you know.

He's still grasping the idea of the bar being sentient, but apparently she has a sense of humour.

"Ooooh, is that a promise?" he grins, reaching for her rather than the key.

She didn't have to drag very hard. He followed quite willingly, tail swishing. A little ways down the hall they found the door to number 10. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/notjustananimal/952.html#comments)
