Faith's in the bar again, or maybe she never left, it's hard to say. She's finished with all her notebooks, and is now busy consuming an extraordinarily unhealthy breakfast that consists of sausage, Pop Tarts, and Red Bull. Fear. Come chat with her, if you like, but mostly, fear.

"That's the difference then," Mel says, cheerfully. "'m not sayin' you should be all excited about getting home, 'm sayin' I am goin' back at the first opportunity."

"Sister. Erin. Older'n me. Cop." she says. "We're not very close, but we're workin' things out."

She wouldn't be wrong.

"It certainly is," Mel gives a wry grin. "She don't approve of me much."

She carefully doesn't touch the subject.

Mel shrugs. "'s not a secret. Couldn't be really. Fight like that, the whole warren involved.

"I don't do the whole secret identity thing. Never saw a point in it."

She shrugs. "Musta.

"But y'know, army of lurks, massive demon mother thing, needed all the help I could get. And Erin and her buddies provided a lot of firepower. And cars."

A sly grin.

"It was fun, definitely. And landing a car on a lurk certainly kills them: that how Erin got her first.

"But flyin' over their heads and firing at them, that's the 'vantage of cars, and bikes, come to think of it. Erin took be right up over this giant snake thin and dropped me straight on to it," she accompanies this glossing of the truth with hand movements.

"It was rocketship."

"Oh, right, you don't yet do you?" she says sheepishly.

"Yeah, flying cars are useful. When the cities can't expand anymore out, the expand up.

"Means when you get thrown off a building, you can usually find somethin' to break your fall."

"Two stories wouldn't be, would it?

"Two hundred? That might hurt even a Slayer."

"Yeah, it helps if you're not stabbed at the time," Mel admits. "And a fall that short, you don't get much time to plan your landing."

"Right. Use any obstacles you can to cut the fall short."

"Yeah, I guessed it was then," Mel says, thinking. "'s when you went into your coma, right?"
