Having satisfied his cholesterol requirements for the day, Indy sighs happily and pushes the greasy plate to one side as he orders a refill for his coffee. Neglecting the clothing catalogs that Lorelai had forced into his hands before she left, he swivels round on his stool and leans back against the bar, resting his elbows on the counter and surveying the clientele for familiar faces.

"Under my pillow of course. Where else would it be?" he replies simply. "And... wobbly knees come with age. At least they aren't knobbly... or scaly."

He gives Mike a pointed glance and grimaces again as he gets too much of an eyeful of the negligee.

Mike gasps in shock and horror.

"I may be leathery, but I'm not scaly. You take that back, sir, or I shall have to thump you soundly!"

Now, now, Indy. *She pats him on the shoulder.* You just have shell envy. We understand. Why don't you just go get yours, and that way you two can match? *She grins, obviously enjoying herself immensely.*

"You guys... jeez!"

Indy's resistance is broken and his cool disposition melts into despair. He drags his hand over his face hopelessly.

"Why did you let him wear it? It would have looked fantastic on you, hon. I'm sure Peter would have appreciated it."

"You shouldn't encourage him. Lorelai is bad enough."

Very slowly Mike begins to dissolve into peals of laughter.

*Alanna giggles.*

It was well worth the sacrifice, I assure you. If that one is ruined, I'm sure I can get another. *She sighs.* As fun as this is, I should probably get back to Corus. Indy, Mike, I will see you both on Sunday, if not earlier. Thank you ever so much for brightening my day.

*She gives them both quick hugs and races out the door, calling over her shoulder.*

Just be glad I didn't get him to try on the sheer one!

Indy gives her a strange look as she departs. "I live with the guy... he's naked all the time. Does no-one realize this?"

He turns back to the flouncing turtle. "I feel like I should probably go through your closet. There was no talk of cross-dressing when we discussed the rules and querky habits."

"Your human hangups about gender specific clothing are cute."

He pinches Indy's cheek.

He bats Mike's hand away with a grin. "Haven't you got work to be doing? Or is the party on hold?"

"Hey, I'm working. I'm making a list of food things. Tasty food things. Food things that will make people happy and well fed. Don't worry about me and the food things. We're totally square."

"Ok... if you say so. But if I see a single egg sandwich cut into bite-size triangles... you're fired and I'm talking to Gil."

He swills the remnants of his coffee in the bottom of his cup.

"I spoke to Bernard and arranged to booze. And I put Lorelai in charge of cups and ice... and music."

Mike takes out his notebook and makes a big show of crossing something out.

"You're such a girl."

"Triangular sandwiches belong at cricket matches and kiddies parties."

"Just go heavy on the olives, shrimp and mushroom volauvents and we'll be fine."

"So this means I should cancel the Loonie Baloony too then, huh?"

Spoken absentmindedly as Mike makes note of the dishes Indy's suggested.

"I sincerely hope you're joking."

He looks for the telltale signs and seems satisfied. After another draft from his mug, he checks his watch. "Shit... I've got so many people to invite. I confirmed quite a few last night... Meg, Anthy, Tom, Bernard... but, I'm not even a quarter done. So, I'd better get on with it."

It's a pointed remark that he hope will spur Mike back into action.

He takes a last glance at the satiny gown and shakes his head sadly. "Such a waste."

"Uh huh. Oh hey! Can you add Flash, Mel Fray, Esk, Raph, Remus Lupin & Guest, and Sara to the list of who've accepted invitations?

Thanks, you're a peach."

He waits for Indy to walk away a bit more.

"You love me in this, it's okay to admit it."

"Not as much as Lorelai will."

Indy frowns at the reptile one last time and throws his head back haughtily. Then he strides off, feigning a silent huff.
