Charlie ambles downstairs. He's wearing Bartleby's sweatshirt again. Yes, it's big enough to fit a small island nation inside. It's also warm.

He sits at the bar and looks around.

"You do fine," Charlie murmurs. "I'm okay. I just have a lot of things to think about."

"Yes. I've been doing a lot of thinking. Most of which seems to have screwed me royally."

"Huh. I tend to get in trouble when I'm not thinking enough."

"I'm not. My boyfriend used to say--says--he says my mind's chaotic. I tell him he should try living there."

Chloe laughs. "Your boyfriend sounds like my friend Andrew."

"He's a good bloke," Charlie murmurs. "If you don't mind, Chloe, it's been a long day, I'm going to head up. See you later, yeah?"
