Claire steps behind the bar, Seth sleeping in a baby sling around her neck. She wipes down the bar's surface and straightens the extra glasses, smiling at Charlie playing guitar in the corner.



"What can I get you?"

Claire laughs. "It's the cool girly drink. Stylish and tasty at the same time."

"Cool girly drink, right," Esk replies, also laughing. "I'll bear it in mind... an Appletini, you said?"

She nods. "And I know lots of other weirdly colored drinks, too. You can try a different one each week if you'd like."

"That sounds like a plan," Esk smirks. "I might just take you up on that."

"It's a deal then. We'll work our way up to shots." She smirks mischievously.

Esk grins and sips her drink. For someone with a Lancre constitution, honed by fifteen years in Ankh-Morpork ale houses, the alcohol capacity of Milliways Bar holds no fear.

Stupid woman.

It probably isn't so much the alcohol Esk should fear but the names of the drinks themselves. That will be fun to watch won't it?

Claire grins back and hands Eska some chocolate chip cookies she has behind the bar. "Here, I can't eat all of these."

"Thanks, Claire," Esk says, helping herself. "I can't say no to anything with chocolate in it."

"Me either." She smiles and takes a cookie for herself. "So what sort of spell are you working on?"

"Exorcism," Esk says, conversationally. "This man wants his demon powers purged while retaining his angelic side. It's fascinating reading."

"Sounds it." Claire's eyes widen. "Is it even possible?"

"I certainly hope so," Esk says, grinning. "In fact, I think I'm making progress. I'll show him next time I see him."

"That's very cool." She nods impressed. "Let me know how it goes, okay?"

"I will," Esk says, grinning and confident.

Seth squeaks in his lttle way of reminding them to pay attention. "Hey," Claire smiles down at him. "Looks like he's awake. Would you like to hold him?"

"Sure I would," Esk says, smiling, as she reaches to take him. "He's growing so well."

"He's got a new trick. He can blow five spit bubbles in a row." She beams.

Seth sighs happily in Esk's arms and waves a little fist in the air.

Esk pats the fist with the tip of her fingers, and makes stupid babyish noises at him. "Hoosawassawassa?"

Claire laughs and Seth answers back seriously, "Uuuhaahhh."

Esk is impressed. "He's very advanced for his age."

"Is he?" Claire looks at the baby thoughtfully. "I wonder if that's the bar."
