Bartending!

Claire steps behind the bar, Seth sleeping in a baby sling around her neck. She wipes down the bar's surface and straightens the extra glasses, smiling at Charlie playing guitar in the corner.



"What can I get you?"

"Oh, oh, no don't do that." She reaches out and pats her hand. Seth starts to whimper as he's bombarded by the emotions. With her free hand she strokes the peach fuzz on top of his head.

"I'm a bartender. It's my job to listen to you." She smiles kindly and offers Chloe one of the chocolate chip cookies. "Feel free to get off your chest whatever you need to."

Chloe takes the cookie, but doesn't say any more about the 24 contingent. Maybe later when she's happier. Instead she giggles at the fuzzy.

"Aw. Seth. I got to hold him once. Babies are so cute. My sister has three kids. My former coworker Chase, who is also here, has a little girl named Angela. Cutest little five year old." As an after thought: "In my time."

"Er, would you like to hold him again?" Chloe's upset, true, but she seems to be happier talking about Seth.

"If it's alright with you. The happiest times I remember is when I was with Angela. I think, no, I know I wanted that." She takes him and when he's settled, wiggles her fingers above Seth's hands.

"I gave Charlie a teething ring a few days after the shower. Its one of those ones that stay cold after you freeze it the first time. I doubt it'll last too long though. Not that he needs it yet." She smirks.
"Still so teeny."

"He is." She agrees with a smile. "He is not even a month yet. But thank you for the teething ring. I was wondering who gave us that."

"I found that in my bag and figured he could use it. At the time of the shower, I was still new, so I didn't want to intrude." She smiles.
"Charlie and I discussed his name. Very fine name for him. Suiting, really."

"Thank you." She grins. "I thought it was cute. And I hadn't met anybody here with that name."

"My ex-fiance's name is Sean. But that's the closest I've come to Seth in my whole life. I can't understand why though, it is a cute name!"

She nods. "I've never really known one either, now that I think about it. I wonder why."

Chloe shrugs.

"Claire, it was really nice talking with you." She smiles.

"But I gotta go. I'm still battling with my allergies, and ever since I figured out that I don't have to wake up and go to work every morning, I've been resting a lot more."

She hands Seth back over to Claire.
"If you need someone to take care of him, I'm in room 23. At least, I'm pretty sure its 23. It has a picture of me on the door. Easy enough to find."

She smiles, waves, and walks up the stairs.

"It was nice meeting you." She grins as she readjusts Seth's sling around her neck.
